Could you provide more information about your computer? What OS are you running?

Did you try running from nwnmain.exe?

Did you check out the Sticky - Ultimate Link list? It has detailed installation instructions, Windows 7 can be particularly problematic.

This link is also helpful. http://www.gog.com/forum/neverwinter_nights_diamond/campaign_videos_cutscenes_not_playing_right/page1
I have looked at most of everything on the Gog site that i know of .

Did you try turning off shiny water?

Or this? ATI users: Stuttering/ low FPS

1. Go to catalyst control centre and experiment with settings on the AI.
(Turning it off sometimes helps FPS but may make your character disappear. You can re-enable your character visuals ingame by turning "show environmental effects on character" off.

Good luck.
This is going to sound really stupid, but I had this problem once, and what I needed to do to stop the lag was actually change the sound settings from whatever that 3D setting is to Miles Positional 2D audio. I the game was having trouble with the 3D sounds and it was slowing down everything.
Thanks for trying im still trying to get it working but the stuttering is still here ... i've tried the sound didnt help .. i tried the Dx link it says i have a better version alrdy installed .. and for some reason i dont know if it is any difference but i dont have cata control center i have AMD vision control center ... im not very good with all this so im not really sure what i should be trying to change or mess with at all :/
Thats the nwnplayer.ini ... i mean idk what else to do but maybe take it all step by step and maybe one of you can catch something wrong:/

as of now there is nothing else i know to do ive read every post tried everything i know to do even rolling back drivers nothing ... i cant even get the game to load without putting atioglxx.dll in the folder idk if thats making the game choppy or what but unless you guys know anything im not doing im not sure where to go from here
from your .ini

Client CPU Affinity=-2

NWN runs best on one Core. Running it an all four just confuses it. change that -2 into the range of 0 - 3, On my 4 core system I have it set to 3 to use the last core.
i've tried -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4 none seemed to make any difference
Can't see what's up. But I guess something is just funky and can't say what.
Might run just fine with uninstall-reinstall, or might not.

It should work! I have a similar setup and no problems.
AMD Phenom X4, Vista (64bit though), AMD 7770 GPU, used to have ATI 4870 and that also ran.

Edit. Actually I'm pretty sure the DX9 is the culprit.
You can't install DX9 on top of DX10, but the runtime installer should still work.

This is the link is the GoG support article. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

It is different from the one I posted yesterday. I had to do this with my Win 7 computer.

This is the support article.

I had the exact same problem. I have an ATI card and the game crashed as soon as I started it; tried adding that .dll, atioglxx, and it worked but everything ran at a very low frame rate.

Then I found this ridiculous solution that has worked perfectly for me so far. I reinstalled the game (no .dll this time) and renamed the file "nwmain.exe" to "nwmain_game.exe".

Hope this is helpful for others, too.
