Is wishing well (marked 5 on the image) disabled in current GOG version of MM7?

I've created new party and went straight there after arriving in Harmondale.
Now, when I click on this well then nothing happens.

How can I make the wishing well to work back as in original game?

Firstly, how did you get there with a fresh party? The obelisk doesn't take you there until you get to the land of giants first and use its obelisk.

Secondly, the well works just fine every time I've decided to use it. There shouldn't be any differences between the original disk and the GOG versions, besides a couple of patches to help it run on modern machines.

No, it still works for me (GOG version, no other patches). Just checked. Get random stuff, including XP, skill points and gold. But I've reached there normally over the course of the game. How do you go there straight from Harmondale? The portal won't work unless you go to Land of the Giants "normally" first and activate the portal there.

After arriving in Harmondale I'm looking for Wind Master and Gate Master to hire in order to be able to fly and use town portal.

Then I'm going for a moment to Baracada Desert to collect some ore and create some armor to sell for some gold.
Then I'm getting 3 invisibility scrolls and the journey begins.

From harmondale I'm traveling south to Barrow Downs and enter Stone City.

Then I go down to the mines and clear them from the Tryglodytes.
Before I enter Nighon Tunnels I cast invisibility on the party and traverse them unseen to Thunderfist Mountain and gout out of it in Mount Nighon.

Then after casting invisibility I again enter the Thunderfist Mountain and go into Tunnels of Eofol from which I exit in Land of the Giants.

It is mostly the route from this speedrun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxPKyf3cCi8

Then I think, it seems like somethings must be triggerning this well in order to work.
(It is wrong guess, because it works in the speedrun.)

Interesting. Did you try the well with different characters?

Just to make sure it's not something in your game, do you have a game save you could share and I could test it in my game?
Or alternatively, use my attached save from that area and see if it works for you.
(You have to change extension from png to zip, because GOG only allows us to attach images)

Yes. It doesn't work for other characters.

It seems like a buggy save or game because your save works properly.

Here is mine.
(It also is zipped one.)

Well, I just tried and I can confirm that yours doesn't seem to work in my game either. So your game is fine.

It's either a one time glitch (maybe you could reload an earlier save from before entering the area), or the well is scripted to have some other requirement before drinking for it... (though you said it does work in the video speedrun, so it could be something else).

Tried reloading already. No luck.

I've had similar glitch earlier in the game (don't remember details) but then reloading helped.

I'll try again with new party later in the day or tommorow.

Thank you for help ZFR.
Would invisibility not trigger the Well?
You say you go past the behemoths etc in Invisibility. Maybe become visible just before you hit the entrance to the Land of the Giants. I know it's a long shot. But if you have a save just before entering the Land of the Giants, it may be worth a try.

Not the case in this instance because invisibility expires shortly before reaching the exit of Tunnels to Eeofol, so then it becomes run for your life trying to avoid few nagas and behemots that will one shot you.

So when entering Lands of the Giants party is visible.
I've tested your provided save-games against the binaries I have on hand (1.0, 1.1, and GrayFace's) and the issue exists in all of them.

Have you noticed any other anomalies? e.g, with interactions with other object types or even other wells?

Regardless, as it appears to be a game bug I suggest you report it on https://www.celestialheavens.com/forum/10

Thank you for testing.

Yes, there are two I can think off:
1. Mouse interaction with world objects doesn't work.
For example, it is impossible using mouse to: pick up objects, open doors.
Experienced it at the beginning of the game. Reload of the save fixed the issue.

2. One pedestal also didn't work. I think reload fixed it, but I'm not sure.

I don't know of any way as for now for how to reproduce those issues.

If you are active on the celestialhevens forum, please consider reproting this bug there and linking here. All information is here.
I don't have an account there and I would like to avoid to create one just to post one thing and repeat the info that exist here.

@ZFR @Emjayen.

I've created a new game with a new party then went to the wishing well and the problem persist.
The well is unusable.

Further down that page with the speedrun there is a comment by AlwaysHarmony saying "wth?" and a reply to that by AslanSzopen which states:
looks like there is well glitch if you hold right mouse button and hold space you can use well as much as you want no matter what happens to character
Have you tried that? (I don't have MM7.) Even if that doesn't work, maybe research the speedrun a bit more? Perhaps there are written details somewhere, or a way to contact the person who did it and ask? I'd be a little surprised if they didn't make notes for the whole thing and did it just from memory.

This glitch works only if it is possible to use the well.
For now the well is inactive. If you click on it or try to activate in any other way, it acts as static object, nothing happens.
