Marcusart: I'm running xp and all the npc's wandering around have the same voice... the females all sound like the male voices... occasionally the voice will change, then all of them will speak with that voice, then it'll change again... I have the unofficial patches installed and disabled sound hardware..
I do not think that is a bug... in MM6, when you talk to NPCs, the voice you hear is actually the currently selected character in your party. So if you have one of your dudes selected, you'll hear his voice for everyone. If you later switch to one of your female characters, you will hear her exclusively until you switch again.

I am assuming MM7 is the same, haven't played it yet.

No problem. That confused me at first in MM6 too.

Nikson: I also have Win7 x64 and have been experiencing the same sound issues. After reading the suggestion above, I skipped the download+install of the unofficial patch. Taking the lazy option, all I did was change the MM7 shortcut to NOT use compatibility mode. Arcomage stutter and sound issues are gone! :D

WTF: Well you miss much. Mouselook kicks ass. Playing MM7 like Morrowind. Can't think of how I could play without it before (and I've finished MM games lots of times in the past).
I have no doubt :) Laziness is my excuse. Besides, at least others will know that they don't *need* to install the patch to fix the sound issues.

Paviel: I think know what's wrong with the Castle Harmondale and Emerald Isle tracks ("19" and "20" in the music folder); apparently the songs themselves were incorrectly ripped. Since the first few bars from track 20 are incorrectly placed at the end of track 19, is there any way to remove those bars from the end of 19 and put them back at the beginning of 20?
I have corrected them using Soundbooth.
Made a zip file containing both tracks, available here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WNY9BP1I
Just copy the two songs in the music folder and replace =) The sound quality is maintained.

GOG staff: Feel free to incorporate the files in the event of an updated installer.
