EMERGENCY BULLETIN

BREAK BREAK BREAK

NORAD HEADQUARTERS HAS DETECTED SUSPICIOUS TRANS-DIMENSIONAL ACTIVITIES ON SENSORS; SUSPECTED INFESTATION OF NONCORPOREAL ALIENS IMMINENT

Prepared remarks from CENTCOMHQ
Good Morning, Gentlemen

As of 0615 hours this morning, we have confirmed massive signs of a noncorporeal invasion force that is determined to directly hijack our entertainment and slowly invade everyone's minds. Fast work by some of our Unusual Circumstances SpecOps team has funneled these aliens into a containable area, though. We have managed to secure them in [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_130913]a select list of video games--specifically titles like Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Thief™ Gold, , and [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_130913]a few more--and the non-corporeal aliens are currently inhabiting the enemy A.I. routines. That means we can find them, we can fight them, and we can kill them.

The space-time rift that the aliens are using to invade is unstable and our physicists project that it will close on Monday the 16th September at 23:59.59 Eastern Time. CENTCOM has arranged for a video game retailer to steeply discount the usual price of these titles to facilitate intervention--they're all 60% off for the duration of the invasion.

You've been contacted because you're part of the elite few who can handle an assignment like this: we need you to buy these games, install them, get in there, and kick some alien butt. The world's counting on you, soldier.

Go get 'em.

TRANSMISSION ENDS
Nice promo. Now I can scratch Thief 3 and Total Overdose from my wishlist.
Hmm...I have a job interview this afternoon. If it goes well I may buy Omikron and Startopia as a reward to myself.

If it goes badly I may buy Omikron and Startopia as a consolidation gesture. ;)
Urban Chaos and Gangsters for me...
I already have Thief series, Deus Ex series, Anachronox and Startopia. I've only finished Thief Gold. So... I don't need any new games from Square Enix. What I really need is more time to play them ;)
No This a week in GOG? I figured that the five week fiesta of content would justify the return of those videos.

Especially as we got many releases this week plus wonderful promos !

That had plenty to say in a video... but they were too lazy it seems :-)

Nice, I can get Anachronox and Thief 3 off the wishlist. Still on the fence about Project Eden and Urban Chaos, but they look tempting.
Another nice promo!

I picked up Anachronox, Deus Ex GOTY, and Omikron, but now I'm really on the fence for the entire Legacy of Kain series. I've not played any of them and I usually prefer RPGs and Strategy over Action, but I keep going back to read reviews and look at the screens...

Could anyone here liken these games to another, perhaps more mainstream, series?

Tomb Raider with vampires, maybe? ;p
Hum, already have Deus Ex and Thief series, maybe will get Project Eden. Total Overdose looks interesting but looks one of these combo-based fighting games which I dislike

Stooner: Tomb Raider with vampires, maybe? ;p
I'm almost afraid to admit this, but I've not played any of the Tomb Raider series either. ((o_o))
Any chance there is another series it's similar to?

The Legacy of Kain games are some of the best ever made, and you're insane if you don't get them...

hmm... hard..
I would say, a dark, kinda, Legend of Zelda-ish... But I'm afraid of the rocks people will throw at me...

Well, it's a puzzle-action 3d game, and is good. ;p

I may be insane with or without purchase! ;^)
Though I must admit that I keep going back to their product page and eyeballing em. For some reason they just look RPG-ish and thus very appealing... Perhaps it's the puzzle aspect many of the reviews point out?

It's a puzzle/action/adventure series. It has some RPG notions (you get a few new abilities as you play) but they're shallow, as the game isn't meant to be an RPG in the first place...
