Today, you can start killing monsters.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, the first two chapters in the gritty RPG series from CD Projekt RED, following the morally ambiguous deeds of the white-haired monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, are available 75% off on GOG.com. That's $2.49 for the first and $4.99 for the second title, until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT (Promo extended!).

Geralt is a wandering monster slayer from the order of the witchers. In a perfect world he would travel from one village to another, killing ghouls and wyverns for a hefty pouch of gold, celebrating his victories with fine mead and ale at local inns, and then waking up each morning (or noon) next to the woman he loves. But the world of The Witcher is far from perfect -- teeming with hatred, dark magic, cruelty, prejudice, dirty politics and outright stupidity. But all the things that make Geralt’s life harder contribute to one of the most vivid, believable game worlds in cRPG history.

The third game in CD Projekt RED hit series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming DRM-free to GOG.com in 2014. Have you seen its recently released CGI trailer titled "Killing Monsters"? Take a moment to immerse yourself in the atmospheric vision of Geralt's grim and unwelcoming world.

While you wait for the third, why don't you give a shot at the first two? Both games are third-person perspective action-RPGs highly praised for their rich environment, mature story, memorable and lifelike characters, and succulent dialogue. Get both The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for only $7.48, or separately at $2.49 and $4.99 accordingly. That's whole 75% off, until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT (Promo extended!).

BreOl72: Maybe this was mentioned anywhere before, but since I'm such a lazybone and all you well-informed people are around now:

Question: Does anybody know, if we'll be able to transfer our last savegame from TW 2 to TW 3?

Because in that case I really must take the time and finally finish TW 2.

ofsaturn: Hey there! A quick search confirms it, saves from The Witcher 2 can be imported in The Witcher 3. Here's a link, if you're interested in the details: -Link-
Excuse me, do you also know if you can import your The Wticher 1 savegame to The Witcher 2? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can - which was why I asked about TW2 and TW3.

Everybody who doesn't have the games: get them, NAOW!!!! :D

I still haven't finished any of them, but...sooon xD
finished witcher 2 for the first time a month ago (as i picked it up during the summer sale). great game. and the videos for the third installment are just plain awesome.

so if i can run witcher 2 in medium to high settings will i be able to run witcher 3 fine as well? it has me curious because it's so darn good looking.
Thanks for this promo, must say I've not played Witcher 2 yet, but have been enjoying the first one and got the 2nd a while back, but this looks like a good deal. Definitely interested in the third and thank you for sharing the link to the video!

Thanks.

I thought so given that they`re like a big family :p
CD Projekt RED,

Please hurry up with The Witcher 3 so that I can give you more money. I already own (and love) both of these!

Thank you.

deonast: Well already own the first two and will get the third. Now this third time around will I need to set my location to another country and use a VPN to appear from another country to avoid the Australian version or will our new and still not always good enough 18+ rating for games get Australian's across the line.
Being from NZ (and therefore subjected to Australia's internet traffic laws by default due to a shared pipeline, damn them!) I would also like to know this. Still haven't been able to play Risen because of Australia's laws, even though it isn't prohibited here!
Nice promo - thanks GOG. I hope that cut-price top titles are raking in the profits as it can only be good news for the consumer. Simplistic economics would suggest that the number of promo sales would need to be 4 to 5 times than the full priced title. It sounds perfectly achieveable and hope it leads to other developers following this trend.

Roman5: (...) Especially with the fact that Witcher 3 is releasing later this year this is a great time to play these games if you haven't played them yet

Chamb: FYI The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for release in 2014. :)
Yes, only 2014... Rub it in, would you? [sigh]

At least it gives me time to upgrade my PC.
