Today, you can start killing monsters.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, the first two chapters in the gritty RPG series from CD Projekt RED, following the morally ambiguous deeds of the white-haired monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, are available 75% off on GOG.com. That's $2.49 for the first and $4.99 for the second title, until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT (Promo extended!).

Geralt is a wandering monster slayer from the order of the witchers. In a perfect world he would travel from one village to another, killing ghouls and wyverns for a hefty pouch of gold, celebrating his victories with fine mead and ale at local inns, and then waking up each morning (or noon) next to the woman he loves. But the world of The Witcher is far from perfect -- teeming with hatred, dark magic, cruelty, prejudice, dirty politics and outright stupidity. But all the things that make Geralt’s life harder contribute to one of the most vivid, believable game worlds in cRPG history.

The third game in CD Projekt RED hit series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming DRM-free to GOG.com in 2014. Have you seen its recently released CGI trailer titled "Killing Monsters"? Take a moment to immerse yourself in the atmospheric vision of Geralt's grim and unwelcoming world.

While you wait for the third, why don't you give a shot at the first two? Both games are third-person perspective action-RPGs highly praised for their rich environment, mature story, memorable and lifelike characters, and succulent dialogue. Get both The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for only $7.48, or separately at $2.49 and $4.99 accordingly. That's whole 75% off, until Tuesday, August 27, at 3:59AM GMT (Promo extended!).

mrking58: I think there is a special bond between gog and CD red. I am going to use my special powers to undercover this mystery.
It`s no secret of their connection. Excerpt from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gog.com:
GOG.com (formerly Good Old Games) is a computer game sale and distribution service operated by GOG Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of CD Projekt RED based in Larnaca, Cyprus.

Strange, I thought they were stationed in Poland....or is that just on the paper?

Anyway, this will most likely to generate a stream of sales. I guess they need more money to finish the ultimate Witcher: Number 3! Haven`t finished 1 yet, but so far it is a massive game to put it mildly. :D

EDIT: Arrr, late as usual :)

Wow, that's a bargain! Two great games for only $7.5. I would buy them so instantly if I hadn't bought them already long time ago. Everybody who hasn't must buy them now.

Highly recommended!

NOTE: Witcher 2 is really demanding! Do not bother unless you meet all the recommended requirements (never bother with minimum unless performance and graphics means squat to you) and if an hardware upgrade is on the horizon (CPU, GPU or both at least) then by all means wait to play it, it's worth it.
It's hard to believe there are gamers who still may not own these awesome games yet...if so, grab 'em now, no more excuses! (well, 'cept for your rig requirements for Witcher 2 as Nirth pointed out). Nice Promo
I just rebought Witcher 1 a week or two ago. Oh well, it is worth well more than the asking price even without a promo.

Still working on actually beating it. Uninstalling Total Annihilation somehow managed to delete ALL the games on my computer, so I had to restart.

Redfoxe: So this is the weekend promo?
[...]
There will be a regular weekend promo on top of that. :-)

EDIT:
Sooo late to the party :-D I had this window open for almost two hours and didn't remember to actually hit the post button up until now.

Well already own the first two and will get the third. Now this third time around will I need to set my location to another country and use a VPN to appear from another country to avoid the Australian version or will our new and still not always good enough 18+ rating for games get Australian's across the line.
Wow, two new fantasy releases and this promo. It's an RPG Thursday all around at GOG. Gives me a giveaway idea...

EDIT: And this would be it.

You make me such a happy gamer, GOG! =)
I wonder, if I were to order this as a gift, would I have to give it to my special someone right away, or can it be redeemed later on? And if so, is there an expiration date?

I'm no official but from experience:

When you buy it as a gift, you can send the code to yourself. You can buy it now it's on sale. Then whenever you want write the bonus code on a card you can give to a friend. Or mail the code.
Thank you, but I already bought those games looong time ago :)

Nice, I'll give it a go. Might be just the trick to lure some friends over to GOG *and* introduce them to this amazing series. Thank you kindly for your quick response!

I can't run either on my computer [it was old tech in 2007 already :)].
Maybe this was mentioned anywhere before, but since I'm such a lazybone and all you well-informed people are around now:

Question: Does anybody know, if we'll be able to transfer our last savegame from TW 2 to TW 3?

Because in that case I really must take the time and finally finish TW 2.

Hey there! A quick search confirms it, saves from The Witcher 2 can be imported in The Witcher 3. Here's a link, if you're interested in the details: -Link-
