Wizardry 8 was one of the very few games, that achieved a great feat--it adopted to the new era of gaming without losing its original spirit and old-school charm. When released 9 years after the previous game in the series, It was praised for staying true to what made its predecessors great and memorable. This allowed all the fans of classic Wizardry games to experience the conclusion to the Dark Savant saga in the only way they would accept as true, while keeping up with the contemporary standards.

Wizardry 8 allows you to import your party from the previous game and complete the Dark Savant trilogy in the company of old friends.Offering yet another 200 or more hours of deep, original, and satisfying gameplay it was dubbed a worthy successor of the classic series, and a well written conclusion to the entire story. So, there you have it hardcore role-playing fans--paired with Wizardry 6+7 its a classic trilogy that takes about 700 hours total to beat. Isn't that simply mindblowing?

keeveek: By the way, I don't know for how long they are doing this, but it's pretty cool!
Thats very cool to see. Nice touch GOG

Crosmando: Dammit GOG, you did it again. Your fetish for 3dfx is black-bordering and forcing a 4:3 aspect ratio.... I strongly think that Direct X should be the default, not 3dfx...
Well, one can change it in the GOG config utility, right? I'm assuming they auto 3dfx because the compatibility is stronger/more likely to work than DirectX on a wide variety of machines.

I think 3dfx is a really good choice for this game. It stretches in widescreen modes making it look quite horrible. At least with 3dfx you can make it 4:3 in your monitor's native resolution. So that totally makes sense to me.

Yeah, I apologize for the mishap. I was incorrect and Wizardry 8 seems to be 4:3 not matter what you use, so 3dfx is the best option because of the better textures.

A bit different from Clive Barker's Undying, which actually does have changeable FOV in the ini file.

Huh, I got that too, but I don't recall wishing for 6+7.
Am I ever glad to have Larry Laffer's visage off the page.

As for the actual game, don't know, might give it a try.

Larry Laffer? Don't you mean Larry Lovage? Larry Laffer is 1-7 and Lovage is the one in the crappy Magna Cum Laude and Box office bust
So who wins in a fight between Sheltem, the Dark Savant, and the Guardian?
Thank you GOG! This along with 6 & 7 really made my day, week, etc. :D
I don't really know what to say, other than... "I love you GOG.... Please don't ever go away."
Amazing indeed.

I will have to wait a bit before I get my hands on it ( and on the 6+7 bundle as well), but well, I can wait another couple of weeks. Any chance we get 1-5 as well ?
