anjohl: No, I don't. I live in THE world where the artists original intent trumps any fan tinkering. Patches which fix glitches, IE, basic utilitarian ones are fine, but any fan mod/patch which adds content is inherently worse than the original content.
Awwww, of course you get to decide what is and what isn't fine in your pocket universe.
Curious about this game, I downloaded the PS3 demo before buying. I was surprised to see how bad it played. Stuttering graphics isn't something I accept on the console.

I understand this might not be true for the PC, but I opted to quickly move to The Witcher 2.

It has nothing to do with what's fine, it has to do with canon. If you add a lightsaber to morrowind, you change the game's mood and feel. Mod all you want, but you cannot deny that all mods are by definition inferior to original content.

By definition, mods, modification, to modify, is relating to a change, making changes, from slight to extensive changes, but does not refer to quality.

As to quality, you are misinformed about mods being inferior. Game modifications often far exceed what Developers have created for a very simple reason. Developers are restricted by budgets and time restraints, as well as “man-power”, in order to bring a production to market. Modders don’t have these restrictions.

Combined into communities, modders have the time, resources and diversity to enhance the elements in a game’s Engine beyond the capabilities and original designs of the Developers themselves. I would even argue that mods and their dedicated creators have been a driving influence behind new innovations in gaming in the course of the last decade...

Jagged Alliance 2 Drassen Counter Attack. Is this something canon or not?
It is not possible to have it in 1.12, though the code is already included there, but inactive. You do need a mod to activate it. So, is this inferior?
Or how about the air raids? Which are also included in 1.12 code, but are inactive because they couldn't fix the bugs in time? Does adding air raids to JA2 change the canon?

Air raids too? Ok, I’ve got the 113 patch and the update but, I’ll have to wait to get JA2 because I already got too many games this month. :/

Thanks to Reality Pump Studios and TopWare Interactive (and TeamGoG) for the Epic Edition release of Two Worlds II, with the introductory sale pricing. I was curious about this game, but was turned away by those nasty bits of DRM issues. There is a lot to explore, including playing a character as a Wizard with the magic system, and an open living world. Couldn’t resist this Release...

The air raids are disabled. The code is in, but inactive, due to crashes and balance issues. So no, while SirTech wanted to add air raids, they are still not available. You may find them in a few mods, but can't really recall which.

That’s ok, with all the other enhancements in the 113 Patch, I don’t think I’ll miss that feature. Still it might be fun to implement, if it can be done without issues popping up.

Yeah, one of the greatest strengths of PC gaming is actually not a strength at all, in fact it detracts from the experience.

Let me tell you, when my brother modded GTA4 he could do nothing but lament that the driving was actually bearable for once. Oh, and all those mods I had for Unreal Tournament? You know, the ones that made the game insanely more fun? Yeah I was obviously having "inferior" fun since it wasn't "the artist's intent" for me to have that much fun.

Playing only the vanilla versions of games is fine but judging everyone else because they're willing to try something different with their game? That just strikes me as sour grapes through and through.
It is a very Good Looking game world but... some of the mechanics (eg Magic, levelling etc) take a bit of getting used to.
I bought the game on disc about 8 months ago and discovered the WORLD'S WORST DRM. (TRUE STORY:)

Once you register the game on their site you were able to play the game...ONCE. Next time you had to, beleive it or don't - RE-REGISTER, Every Time!!!!!!!! (That was my experience.. which I tolerated about half a dozen times. After that I simply uninstalled the game and put it into the "also-rans".)

I didn't think it was a bad game, per se. I did enjoy playing it, once I had a handle on the controls etc. It's just that the DRM p*ssed me off, utterly. To the point where i could no longer play it without getting angry at the Shite implementation
and buggy DRM

If GOG haven't had this fixed, I won't buy (for the expansion which is unavailable here)
IS this problem still present in the DRM/Registration?

It's DRM free, every game on GOG is.

Forgive me for asking, but you still have to Register at the website, do you not- in which case DOES it keep your details (past 1 play of the game?)

I haven't installed the GOG version yet but if you had to register to the site to install everyone here would be going apeshit and screaming about it, and it would be DRM, so no, you don't.
