Includes Mind Games and Gold Edition DLCs!

Sword of the Stars: The Pit Gold Edition, the complete edition of the challenging modern Sci-Fi roguelike game that challenges you to explore ancient alien ruins, is available 25% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.74 for the next three days. At the same time, the permanently reduce the price of the game's regular edition to $6.99.

Are you prepared for the Pit? If you think you are, scout, you've already failed and our world is doomed. I want you to really understand this: you are not prepared. Nothing in the world could have prepared you. No amount of training, not even years of experience, nothing. So if you're feeling confident, that you can go to the Feldspar Mountains, scavenge the ancient Suul'ka complex, steal their secrets, and return with the cure for the Ghoul Plague--we're dead. Our only hope lies in your ability to doubt yourself, second-guess your own judgment, and think twice about your every step. This is how dangerous the Pit is. I would know. I've been there. I reached level 3 before my squad was decimated by mutant beasts. So, soldier, I'll ask you one final time, and this time I want you to really think before you give me your answer: are you prepared?

Sword of the Stars: The Pit Gold Edition is a phenomenal turn-based RPG turning the traditional roguelike dungeon exploration, item scumming, and careful planning into a modern gaming experience. The infamous Pit is randomly generated on each playthrough, which--combined with the game's three different character classes--makes up for crazy replayability value. With tons of items to find, many equipment and character modifications, and--most importantly--a vast selection of blood-hungry monsters waiting for your every mistake, this game offers you a Sci-Fi adventure you'll be enjoying for hours and hours. The Mind Games and Gold Edition DLCs included in this premium package, add new layers of gameplay and come with a plethora of improved and added features. (Both DLCs also available separately. The Gold Edition Upgrade DLC costs $2.99 and requires the previous Mind Games DLC to be installed first).

If you like challenging games that first become your passion, then an obsession, and finally an addiction, you need to grab the definitive package of roguelike goodness, Sword of the Stars: The Pit Gold Edition, right now, for only $9.74 on GOG.com! The 25% discount offer lasts until Monday, November 11, at 14:59PM GMT.
"And is there really no way for me to get the complete edition in a single installer unless I buy the standalone Gold Edition (that would mean buying the same game twice since I already own the regular edition)?"

- Sorry, the Gold Edition is a bundle that contains 2 DLCs and the base game.

"I would also like to know what's going on as I own the base game only...if I get the DLC, do I get a discount on the gold?"

- Sorry, the Gold Edition DLC is a seperate DLC and the discount is only for the entire bundle.

"Hmm, checked the file and it says 'standalone'. So...could we get some elaboration on that?"

- This was a mistake, the correct installer name for the Gold Edition DLC is: setup_sots_the_pit_gold_dlc_2.0.0.14.exe

"Why is there a MindGames DLC in the package if it's already added in the stand alone and impossible to install as it is ?"

- The current installer for the Gold Edition DLC shares a lot of files in common with the both the first DLC (MindGames) and the base game. This is because we got the final build for the Gold Edition DLC from the developer very late due to time differences (they're in Canada and we're in Poland :) )and we were not given enough time to create and test a build with only the files from the Gold Edition DLC, so it was that or not being able to release this DLC today. We are very for sorry for all of the confusion.

If you have any more questions, please let us know.

Just going to say that I really enjoyed the base game despite the inconsistent graphics and difficulty spikes.

Also, the DLC has space dolphins.

Fixed :) Thanks :D
So is this going to show up on my games library twice now? One for the original copy AND the gold edition?

No, it's still just the one box on the shelf but with three download links :)

Whew! Thanks! That was all I was worried about :D
Ok, then I'm confuse... How come I only have both DLCs but not the base game in my gold edition ?

No problem :)

Personally, I can't wait to get home and try this out myself and with a 3 day weekend ahead, I might be binging on SOTS: The Pit \o/

I am not exactly sure what is going on there but if you write Support with your issue, we will fix the problem as soon as humanely possible. Sorry, but I don't deal with the webpage's technical issues and I wouldn't want to say something that may mislead you :/

Same Issue, plus trying to download the bonus content crashes the GOG downloader.
Ok, I will do that. Anyway thank you for the quick answer !

FlamingFirewire: Wouldn't a much more elegant solution be to delete/ replace the regular game page with the Gold one (causing no future confusion for new buyers), and then for free or a small fee have an option that 'upgrades' the vanilla version to the Gold Edition?

The current way just seems much more complicated than it needs to be.
They've neatly avoided putting any decent sales on the mindgames DLC, even when the base game was 75% off. A small fee upgrade doesn't seem to have been part of their plans so far.
Not really jazzed about it but I still adore 99.99% of everything else GOG related so I'll deal with it. :D Of course, SotS while a nice game isn't really high on my backlog so no big harm done.
Question: Can you play just the base game after the dlc are installed?
For example, Civilization V permits turning off DLC.

I think that's a feature of Civilization (haven't played so I don't know the specifics :P).

You can play the base game. Just don't install any of the DLC but you can't simply turn off the DLC, however.

(insert joke about "one does not simply turn off DLC" here...)

Hope that helps :)
