Superfrog is back to save the day!

Superfrog HD, a modern reworking of the 1993 2D platformer with tweaked gameplay, updated level design, and enhanced cartoonish graphics, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $3.99 for the first 72 hours!

You know how the story goes: an unlucky prince is magically turned into a frog by a nasty witch. But here is a twist! Thanks to a mystery potion the frog gets super powers. To rescue his kidnapped princess the amphibious superhero will jump around 24 finely crafted levels, across 6 themed worlds. He'll even defeat challenging bosses along the way. If you thought the amphibian champion might be a bit out of shape after 20 years in retirement--think again! Superfrog HD stays true to the original while updating the mechanics and adding in modern polish to the games visuals.

Help Superfrog save the day in this modern throwback to one of the best classic platformers of the 90s, get Superfrog HD, for only $3.99 on GOG.com, until Sunday, September 14, at 9:59AM GMT.

Novotnus: FROGS ARE NOT REPTILES!
:)
still a little bit closer than green machine from Enigmatic hint :D http://www.gog.com/forum/general/this_weeks_enigmatic_hint/post2394
This is a very nice "remake". As far as I am concerned it's superior to the Original in almost every way. It plays better, it runs better, it looks better (without loosing the Original look),...

The game is a recreation of the Original but they changed the level layouts a bit. But if you want to haven the originals they are in there too! I Always struggled with the Original pc version here on gog, this version is amazing and to me there is no more going back. If you lke the Original but have issues with how it's aged, you will love this version.

(OFF TOPIC: Does anybody know how or why gog decides to put some words with capital first letter? Like in this posts the words Original and Always)? Been a while now but it's starting to annoy me...)
Nah, nothing for me :(
Nothing for me this time.

Phil84: I think you can that if you right click the game application in your Steam library, choose Properties, then the tab "Language" and select your language from there? My Steam games have that option anyway from what I can see.

Erich_Zann: Except it doesn't do jack shit in Superfrog HD (or isn't even present, can't remember which).

Not sure what's going on there but I'll just say this:

I have the Polish version of Windows 7 installed (no language packs for me so I can't install English even if I wanted to) and I installed our version of Superfrog HD and everything was in English in the main menu and the opening cut scene.
*SLAP* FROGGER IS NOT SUPERFROG!!!

Good catch! :D
Reminds me of the moment in the first Witcher where Geralt explains to some NPC that salamanders are amphibians, not reptiles. Let's pretend that this was an homage to that scene. ^^

Yeah, but that's only because Polish is not one of the supported languages.

Many games these days look at the OS locale and set the game language to the locale of the system and only fall back on English if the language of the locale is not supported (like Polish in your case). This would be fine, but then they usually don't give an option to change it at all.

Recent examples for this idiocy include: Leisure Suit Larry, Castle of Illusion HD and apparently Superfrog HD.

I don't know about Superfrog HD (up to now I didn't even know they remade that!) but some games have the bad habit to switch the game language according to the Region system settings without any possibility to switch.

That has nothing to do with language packs. These translate Windows to different languages.

The Region system settings take care of a lot of other things like regional time, the way numbers and dates are formatted, keyboard layout, etc. Because of that you don't want to mess with them every time you play a game. So you are basically stuck to your local language when playing the game whether you like it or not.

Alternatives are of course that you do switch the setting every time you play or use AppLocale.
It would be nice addition classic Superfrog with HD. However show the classic from series at least on HD card page :)
