Underwater pyrotechnics.

Subwar 2050 Complete, an excellent DOS-era fighter sim with great gameplay mechanics and stylish visuals, set in the middle of future corporate war under the sea, is available now on GOG.com, for only $5.99

The calm dark waters of the ocean. Whatever happens at the bottom, there's nothing on the surface to indicate any trouble, pain, nor death. Maybe just a ripple. Better part of our planet is covered by water, so it's no wonder that humankind rushed in to seize control over the oceanic reaches at one point of its history. The corporate greed and lust for power knows no boundaries, and for the CEOs of the great corporations it makes no difference whether a spot on their map lies on land or under the sea. After all, they're not the ones to fight the war, piloting the state-of-the art aquatic warships. That part of corporate warfare is all yours to handle.

Subwar 2050 Complete makes you a mercenary pilot of futuristic submarines, performing various missions in the course of corporate war for domination over the oceanic floor. You'll have to master specific underwater fight tactics to emerge victorious out of the game's many campaigns. With an original setting, complex maneuvers, deep and satisfying gameplay, and a great selection of missions this is one of the best fighter sims in existence, whether in space, mid-air, land, or sea. The Complete edition includes The Plot Deepens data-disk, adding more weapons, new submarines, and extra three campaigns into the game.

Prepare for amazing aquatic action from the golden age of DOS games. Get Subwar 2050 Complete on GOG.com, for only $5.99!

Yeah, this looks nice - Archemedian Dynasty is still missing from the AquaNox series though...

SirEyeball: while I like this release I cant help but wonder if the wishlist is completely inconsequential this had 45 wishes and that is not a lot by any standards.
I'm glad they don't keep games back due to low vote count, there are some unknown gems out there that deserve a second shot.

True and a very valid point I just hope that voting has something to say otherwise that bit is totally pointless.
Why have I never heard of this? Looks badass, like an underwater wing commander or something.
Oh, I never heard of this game, but it reminds me of Aquanox and that's a good thing :P
Now we're talking! This is one I always wanted to try.

It's such a shame that Particle Systems disappeared. They were a really talented developer (see also I-War on GOG).

Indeed, low votes are in no way an indication of game's quality. As I have mentioned before:

I love these kind of rare/obscure releases because they give me a chance to play games I might have missed completely back in the day and it's like stepping back in time to 1993 and discovering something new for yourself
Ah, I was always so tempted by this back in the day; and that was without having experienced Particle Systems' subsequent masterpieces. I can't see myself resisting this.

Roman5: So is this like, a spiritual predecessor to Aquanox?
Because the actual predecessor to Aquanox was somehow unsuitable?

Oh nice, i was supposed to play this way way back then, but never got around. Or i didnt have powerful enough computer at the time, cant actually remember anymore. Maybe ive upgraded enough by now? :)

Wish we got a real, proper game in the spirit of original Archimedian Dynasty though. AquaNox'es werent exactly the same thing..

actually... yes, I seem to recall that name
it was called
Looks kind of interesting, wishlisted for now.

Feeling a bit underwhelmed by the GOG releases past few weeks must admit, since being spoilt by Severance, Omnikron and System Shock 2 already this year the releases just haven't interested me since Omnikron.

Ah well, have to just roll with it for the time being and wait on the next publisher, announcement should be soon hopefully.
Okay, so I get the "37 year" part of the hint, but why 6 months ago?
