Finely ground aliens to take-out.

Shadowgrounds Survivor, a dynamic top-down shooter with swarms of alien horrors to spray with bullets, suggestive visuals, spiffy weapon upgrade system, and four player co-op mode, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99. With that, its predecessor: Shadowgrounds, receives a Mac version and a permanent price drop to $5.99 as well.

In this indirect continuation of Frozenbyte's exciting alien shooter you'll follow a parallel story of the human commando facing the invasion on the Ganymede colony. The horror creeping in the dark corners of the Universe finally caught up with Terran colonists and the massacre that followed was only survived by a handful of the best trained, bravest, and quickest soldiers. Now it is up to them to put a stop to the extraterrestrial menace that threatens our existence.

Shadowgrounds Survivor delivers non-stop alien-shooting action over the course of 20 diverse missions, and it does so in perfect form. The old-school gameplay concept is paired with very modern visuals. You'll feel the heat of the combat and alien blood splatters as your guns rattle and spit a rain of bullets on your monstrous foes. Are you crazy enough to face the endless waves of beast in the timed survival mode? You can even share the fun with up to three more friends, in the fun and challenging co-op mode. Fun times! Dark and dangerous, but fun.

Humanity needs you again, so grab your upgradeable guns, and seriously kick some alien behind in Shadowgrounds Survivor, for only $5.99.
I hope this means (idk how can be related) that Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom is near for release.

Well, another franchise "complete". Thank you GOG. :D

keeveek: btw. I wonder who took more effort to release a portion of EA expansions - GOG or guys at EA.
Remember that post from ages ago (I think it was on a Wing Commander fanpage), that an EA official said that from their site everything is peachy..... But I guess it is just EA being lying, I guess.

I for one have stopped dancing around the table and cheering at GOG whenever they deemed us worthy to sell us one of their games. This is not how you treat your customer. Maybe EA will push Origin further by adding old game support once the deal with GOG has run its course.

timppu: If your only issue with this release is that it wasn't released already years ago here... then I have no idea why you get so angry and worked up about it? Shouldn't you be extra superduper happy that they _finally_ released it on GOG?
Oh god...

I am unhappy because this entire summer is filled with "We don't care" releases, releasing only two games a week, mostly indie titles, mostly games already being sold everywhere, mostly games that require no compability work or testing, pretty much no classic releases at all.

If they released something else today, not only a game that "we" had to wait 3 years for GOG to finally release, that wouldn't be a problem at all.

And I am frustrated because I can't see any logic in their release schedule. 2 years of waiting for Prince of Persia: Warrior Withing. 3 or 4 years for Settlers 3. 3 yesrs for S: Survivor.

At this rate, we will see Hitman: Blood Money in 2020.

timppu: Were you screaming with the System Shock 2 and Wizardry releases at GOG, why didn't they release them already years ago?
Do you seriously think this is a valid comparision? You're unbelievable.

Seeing how angry some people get towards GOG for delayed releases, maybe it would be better not to release it at all. :)
All 38 people who voted for it on the wishlist should be happy.

The most anticipated release of this summer, judging how many votes other releases got.
I love this kind of games, I might get this and the first game someday.

To stay in the same genre, can gog.com rattle Team17's cage a bit so they'll release the new Alien Breed games over here?
And Sigma Team's Zombie Shooter? =)

This is not logical. But we had this discussion a week ago. The answer was that people who are unhappy with waiting here should buy their games somewhere else and visit here less often.

So we get back to the point that you are against GOG releasing those games here, just because you don't care (anymore). Or why weren't you complaining about those loudly during the System Shock 2 and Wizardry releases?

Care to explain why not? Providing your main complaint really is just that they wait too long with the releases. Couldn't they have released those classic games already years ago, if they had just tried harder?

To me you seem to be complaining about releases you wouldn't have bought from GOG anyway, regardless when they'd appear here.
Ok people time to fess up.... who plugged the hole the GOOD OLD GAMES were coming out of? Gog's whole 'You'll still get just as many great classical releases every week' thing is fading already. The exact reason a lot of us didn't want gog to start selling newer/indie games on here. It's been ages since I saw a new good old game I want :(.

If you really are this unintelligent to think by yourself, let me explain it to you:

- System Shock 2 and Wizardry games are not sold everywhere else DRM Free
- System Shock 2 and Wizardry games were not already owned by publishers already signed on GOG
- System Shock 2 and Wizardry games were not featured in any bundle
- System Shock 2 and Wizardry games got thousands of votes in the wishlist
- System Shock 2 and Wizardry games had to be untangled from legal limbo

I think these are the most obvious differences.

btw. I don't think you should praise GOG that much for System Shock 2, because it's not GOG that made this release possible.

the fanboyism really is getting stronger and stronger here

*joins in on the popcorn eating*

Good popcorn, ain't it? :D
Did they really said they want to be the direct alternative for steam....?? That explains a lot actually (release wise) and unfortunately if they continue down this road they might come to a sudden stop. I really hope not. I Always thought the single most appealing thing of this site was old classics working on newer OS that you couldn't find anywhere else....but if that's not their goal anymore then fair enough ;)

timppu: +1 for Trine 2 appearing soon too. And Torchlight 2, Sacred 2, Risen 1-2 etc. etc. etc., while you are at it.
Now you're talking! Where are these games, GOG?
