There's more than one side to every story.

FEZ, an original and incredibly deep perspective-twisting puzzle-platformer with countless imaginative stages to explore in a incredibly complex, awe-inspiring world, is available on GOG.com, for only $9.99.

Remember the time when everyone thought that the world was flat? Well, Gomez does. In fact, he thought so himself, just until recently--and I mean "flat" as in "two-dimensional". Then all of a sudden our hero was presented with an artifact that proved almost everything he thought he knew about his land wrong. Coincidentally strange reality glitches started to occur all around, and it seems that it's up to Gomez to fix whatever went wrong with the fabric of his universe.

FEZ is an indie puzzle-platformer which took years to make, and looking at the level of its complexity one still has to wonder how was creating such a huge, diverse, and rich gameworld even possible. There's a good chance that you won't even see the half of what the game has to offer on your first playthrough, and even after long hours spent with Gomez you'll still be discovering new elements of the giant multi-layered puzzle that he calls home. The challenge of this game lies not in agile platform-hopping, but in solving elaborate enigmas you encounter on every step. The games unique perspective-rotating mechanics allow for some incredible level design, but not all puzzles you encounter are perspective-based. In fact, the variety of puzzles in FEZ is astounding, and some of them call for taking notes why you play--something that games rarely achieve nowadays. This game, ladies and gentlemen, is one in a million experience. Be sure not to miss it, for whatever cause.

Find out why a fez is actually a thinking-cap and set out to explore one of the most amazing gameworlds ever created in FEZ, for only $9.99 on GOG.com!

One more thing before you go fiddle with the trixelated space-time continuum. Today's game release marks the submission deadline for our pre-order contest, in which you've had the chance to become a proud owner of an actual, physical fez hat. We'll announce the winners soon!

Great to see finally on PC via GOG.
And the review score now stands at a solid 3 stars, half from people who have never played the PC port (but liked the Xbox game), and half from people who have never played the PC port (but don't like Fish). Useful! I realize that pointing out how terrible GOG's reviews are is kind of old hat (and I only just did it in another thread!), but it never ceases to amaze me just how terrible they sometimes are.

Anyway, Fez. I just paid rent, but I'll probably pick it up at some point, unless I hear that the PC port is terrible and won't be patched (there are bug reports in the game forum right now, but that's basically what the game forums are used for, so I don't think it provides a useful idea of how buggy the game is/isn't.)
So... is this a good game that's worth playing?

The video seems somewhat promising (although I am never into platformers).
high rated
GOG, could you please delete the reviews that focus solely on the developer's person? Game Reviews are meant to review a game after all, not a developer. Bugs are another story. Bugs need to be resolved and have a logical negative impact on a review.
I believe if the game is quality, you should never care about the creator personality. Beside i don't believe the Phil Fish is in sole control of the product including post-release support.

It's equivalent to hating Diego Maradona just because he's telling the media to keep sucking his cock not too long ago.

Just be fair to the game.

No. No, he's not, TET. Also, what he tried to do to Team Meat as more than enough reason for him to see none of my gaming budget.

What'd he try and do to Team Meat?

Tried to get them kicked out of IGF, due to their deal with Microsoft, claiming they weren't really "indie." Then submitted his own game, despite Phil ALSO having a deal with Microsoft.

If Phil wants to be a dick to his fans, that's w/e, but hypocrisy and attempting to jam his fingers into other peoples' pockets on top of that is just grimy.

I do too. I'd actually been playing Ed's games for longer than I realized, before the whole Meat Boy craze started. I had several "WAIT A MINUTE, I KNOW THIS GAME," moments when I watched the movie.
I stopped paying Blizzard entertainment when they stopped caring about the gamers. I also boycotted Hasbro way back when they fired the Microprose team before Falcon 4.0 was complete. The developer of Fez never cared about gamers, so I won't be supporting him either.

Sometimes you have to consider who you support when you buy things. There are companies that act more immoral than the rest, and those I don't buy from (Nestlé comes to mind. It is sometimes a bit hard to know exactly which brands are owned by them, but when I know that it is a nestlé brand, I avoid it if there is another option), even if their products are good. Same here, the person behind the game really makes me consider spending my money somewhere else, on someone more deserving of my money.
