The Spanish Conquistadors were ruthless, imperialistic monsters and the fact there is a game about it is disgusting :P

But then there is Total War where you play as Nepoleon Boneparte and he was the Hitler of the 19 Century :P

And right now I don't care about what happened in the past when its best to look to the future.
Does this have or is there any chance it will get a Linux version? If so I won't get it on GOG.

Well can I ask:

Does it only take place in what is now Mexico, or all of Latin America and the Caribbean?

Mexico and the Dominican Republic. On moderately-accurate topical maps of the region.

Erich_Zann: Nice, eager to play this one tonight. Backer key redeemed, the natives will kneel.
By the way, you forgot the manual in the extras.
You can download the manual here in the meantime: http://logicartists.com/dl/ExpeditionsConquistadorGameManual.pdf

ne_zavarj: What a review on the game page :

$20 for a mobile game port? Seriously?

ne_zavarj:
It's indeed more a comment. However, a quick search on the internet does not quickly resolve the unclearity that causes this comment.

Of the official sources, only the kickstarter site mentions the Windows phone app Conquistador ($0,99) having been the initial release platform due to the lack of resources (hence the kickstarter was started).
There is no information on the official website of the pc game on new features/differences compared to the Windows phone app Conquistador. The kickstarter page neither gives a 'consumable' overview.

Making this information easily accessible by the indie-developers on their website would help to avoid this comment, and make the pricing difference directly understandable.

p.s. hooray for having other current reviewers (to counter the comment mentioned above)
