Anyone bold enough to accept this challenge and amuse his Lordship and his noble guests by fighting the demonic deadly denizens of the dungeon, may apply to enter the contest at the city guard office. The challenger who survives all the levels of His Lordship's playground and slays the fierce red dragon Melkor residing in the final chamber, will receive a royal price of no less than 10 000 golden coins and will be allowed to the Fang's throne. So sayeth our beloved ruler, Baron Sukumvit. Hear me, hear me!

Deathtrap Dungeon is a third-person perspective action game that puts you in the middle of a monster-infested, trap-filled maze created with the sole purpose of torturing adventurers for the amusement of nobility. You'll be also solving various puzzles in order to continue your journey into the depths of the maze, where your ultimate enemy awaits. Based on the popular Fighting Fantasy gamebook by Ian Livingstone, Deathtrap Dungeon presents an unprecedented challenge and rewarding gameplay, while fulfilling this story's destiny which has always been becoming a video game!

Accept the Baron's challenge and, keeping in mind the gold and power that can be yours, boldly step into the ominous Deathtrap Dungeon, for a small entry fee of only $5.99 on GOG.com.

Yes. So?
People do tend to miss the New & Coming tab, thus express surprise when we mention the games there.
Still, Reus needs more Cthulhu
Hmmmm, never heard of it but Squeenix published some decent stuff in the late 90's so I might try.

I hope the rest of October picks up tho

I've no idea. I copy pasted it from the game card.
nice release think it is a fn but hard game.
Never heard of it before, but seems tobe very funny!
Oh, sorry GOG, but you weren´t able at all to blow my mind up to now!
F*** YEAH! Have been waiting for this one ever since I joined GOG. With Severance and Die by the Sword already being here we only need Dark Vengeance and Nightmare Creatures to complete the collection of oldschool PC fantasy slasher games now.

Today is may 9th... I want another game!..

oh yeah, they count announcements as releases... dammit ;p
and yeah, I agree about Cthulhu
Yeah, always wanted to try this one years ago, nice to see a licensed IP game turn up, who knew it was only 150 odd Mb? I bet people that had it on CD had assumed it filled the disk back then (unless old wav files have been compressed to mp3 or something...)
I have the big box version of this one already but for some reason my DVD drive won't read the disk and there isn't a mark on it.

Will be buying it on GOG next week though for ease of installation. Tough game but once you get to grips with it very good dungeon crawler.

The game is a third-person adventure, with the player taking the role of an adventurer (either the Amazon "Red Lotus" or the Barbarian "Chaindog")

Sloppy gamecard :p I did remember the name because of the silly voice during character selection "Chaaain Dooog" with their best "Resident Evvviiil.." voice impersonation.
I still have the PS 1 version. The controls are really wonky. Were they any better on the PC version? Oh, It's nice to another Squarenix game on the site :p

MegDukNovTer: Why did this title seemed familiar?

Oh, it was because of this S&M-themed advertising back in day
