A whole battle world, not just an isle!

Battle Worlds: Kronos, a deep turn-based strategy game with very modern looks paired with old-school mechanics and hex-based presentation, is available 20% off on GOG.com. That's $23.99 for the first week.

Over the course of human history, someone said that war never changes. That is untrue as war does change over time. It evolves slowly, with a sudden evolutionary jump sparked by technological advancement every now and then. What truly never changes, is human nature. From the moment one of our primate ancestors took a heavy stick to another primate's head, we have been a race of warriors. Or maybe, it began even sooner? So deep is our expertise in violence, so enthralling is the desire for power, that it seems to work at cellular level. No wonder, then, that we took war with us when we set off for the stars. Now, as the Emperor lies dead, the greatest succession war in the history of mankind begins.

If you're an old-time military strategy gamer, Battle Worlds: Kronos will bring back many of your fondest memories. The playfield alone, divided into countless orderly hexes, looks irresistibly familiar. Time-proven turn based mechanics allow for careful planning and provide room for the cleverest of stratagems. Two single-player campaigns provide up to 30 hours of challenge and satisfaction, further extended by special maps and--of course--multiplayer modes, including the oldie-but-goodie hot-seat option. Pair that with visuals absolutely perfect for a mid-range sci-fi strategy game, and what you get is a title no armchair general could possibly resist.

Bring order to the chaotic and dark times of the succession wars and lead humanity to victory--well, a part of humanity at least--in Battle Worlds: Kronos, for only $23.99 on GOG.com. The special release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, November 12, at 10:59AM GMT.

Crosmando: Do we even know why GOG don't offer Special edition versions of new games here?

ZivilSword: GOG does not offer different edition of any game. KA could have put a DLC for the extras. That would be something GOG supports. But in my opinion the thing with special editions is just to make more money.
couldnt they fix it like this did with this GOG game (different 'editions'):

Oh yes, you are right. Still I think the situation is as described: King Art does not offer an upgrade to the other edition, but you have to decide. Maybe GOG could also offer the extended edition but I think they don’t want to mess up with us because there would be no way to upgrade from a standard edition (as it is the case for Dragon Commander).
Gogs edition does have the soundtrack, though. That is only included in the special edition.
Attractive strategy from adventure company KING Art.
For those who backed the especial edition, now the GOG option is available in the devs site: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kingartgames/battle-worlds-kronos-turn-based-strategy-revisited/posts/653366

Any idea how to claim it? I'm not seeing any option on the Kingart Portal to get a GOG key.

Strange, for me appeared the option finally and I backed the especial edition.

RoseLegion: I'm in the same boat, been logging out and back in for most of today hoping for the GoG option to appear.
I want to play Battle Worlds! :)

BreOl72: Well, for me it was a "one day wait".

On tuesday morning / forenoon I tried and the GOG-code still wasn't there - but in the afternoon (16:00 - 17:00 hrs), it was there, and I could redeem it without any problems.

I'd say, if it should still not be available for you (until now) - write to KA's support.

EDIT: reading the post above, I'd say - it's because of your pledge-level...

Just got the code and am downloading now :) your edit is correct by the way, it was due to pledge level.

Looking forward to sinking my teeth into this game :)

Imho everything there is just to make more money. But it's true every game here comes in only one edition. If this is wise...

Thank you for letting us know, so glad KING Art managed to sort out the issue - I was getting a bit worried, to be be perfectly honest. :)
Looking at the still shot for the Youtube link, the only thing I can think of is;

"Captain Anderson's defected to another game?!?!' Does Sheppard know?!?!'
This game is good

It really is. The story's pretty bland and forgettable, but the highly addictive gameplay (which is what ultimately matters the most in such games) more than makes up for it. I'm so glad I supported the kickstarter campaign.
I just heard in another (german speaking) forum that you can register your copy of BWK bought from here at the dev and download the Linux version because there is one. That might make the many GOG customers who also like Linux happy until the time when GOG starts supporting Linux (whenever this is).

I'll wait a bit until the flow of bugfixes slows down but then I'll want some heavy MP gaming. I imagine that'll be a lot of fun.

So... Does this game support XP or not? GOG's game page now includes XP as a supported OS but Steam and Gamersgate don't list XP. I'm going to see if I can get any official word on this.
