Almost too good to be a game--but as games go, it's one of the pest.--Entertainment Weekly

Bad Mojo Redux, a revamped edition of the classic 1996 horror adventure that will let you experience the world through the eyes of a cockroach, is available in a bonus content-filled package on GOG.com, for only $5.99!

There's over 4,500 species of cockroaches roaming every possible corner of our planet. 40 of them, are the species closely related to human habitats. They live in the cracks of our civilization, feeding on our waste, shunning our light. We try to keep our worlds as separate as possible, revolted by their shining chitin bodies, dietary habits, and the tendency to show up unexpected and uninvited. We do our best to keep them out of our sight and mind, but the truth is, we're only fooling ourselves. They are there, they have always been, and they will be long after we're gone. Now, wouldn't it be fascinating to catch a glimpse of these creatures' perspective of reality?

Bad Mojo Redux lets you do just that! It tells a Kafka-like story of a man turned into a cockroach by a strange and mystical twist of events. Surprisingly the event leaves the protagonist feeling empowered, free, and in control for the first time in his life, as he sets off to experience the world full of paths no human ever trailed before. The game, combining exploration, puzzles, and a psychedelic plot, has been refurbished for modern systems so you can discover all of the 800+ screens re-creating our world's disturbingly icky underbelly. The game comes complete with a ton of bonus video content (including a "making of" documentary and developer commentaries) and artworks.

Overcome your revulsion, leave behind your prejudice towards insects, and discover a whole new perspective with Bad Mojo Redux, yet another Night Dive classic release, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.
Awesome! Much awaited release and fair price. Now I just hope it's really as good as people say. :P

lol great game!
i didn't think it would make it here
This a weird game a bit difficult to classify (exploration-based action+mystery horror game?)
I liked it when I tried it ages ago, expecially for the plot discovery (even if not perfect in the end).

I remember, however, that I encountered a bug (no pun intended lol) that prevented me from pushing a final important object, so I had to reload a previous savegame or something.

Anyway, what's different in this "Redux" version from the original one?

From mobygames:

The core game has not been changed, but technical issues have been eliminated and the FMV sequences have been enhanced.
I've never heard about this redux edition, what differs between both versions?

edit. OK, ninja'd

I loaned my boxed copy to my sister and that was the last time i ever saw it. If i understand it right, this doesn't use Quicktime anymore? Quicktime was the only thing i didn't like about it. Hopefully we'll see Frankenstein Through the Eyes of the Monster come back without Quicktime as well someday.
I think a lot of people will be happy.
Not for me thanks
Regarding the complaints about adventure games, I'd really like to see a poll about genre popularity among the GOG community. It might be true that some genres are more catered to then others, but I'd be surprised to find that a majority of GOG'ers isn't interested in them. I can see why people with very restricted preferences who don't like neither adventure games, nor RPGs, nor platformers, nor shooters, nor indie games in general would be less happy about GOG's release schedule, but it goes without saying that the less (popular) genres you like, the smaller your choice will be ...

But OT: Where the fuck is Transistor?!
Go, SuperGiantGames, get your ass of! This shouldn´t take a whole year like with Bastion to release a DRM-free version!

Yes!
Looking forward to this, as Bad Mojo is generally considered as one of the most creepy and bizarre adventures of all times, with very original premise unlike most other games in this genre.
And when we could have here Phantasmagoria and Harvester, which I admit are even more insane than this (although not by much), then why not adding also some cockroaches running for their lives?

The only negative is the length of the game - from what I heard, the game itself isn`t longer than some 3-4 hours.
But I think that very specific atmosphere of imminent danger makes from it a truly unique experience, which more than sufficiently compensates that.
