Dark mysteries of the Irish shores.
Montague's Mount, a chilling trip to a dark Irish coastal island in search of your memories, sanity, and meaning, is available for pre-order 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99, until the game is released on Wednesday, October 9.
Montague's Mount is an atmospheric first-person perspective horror game, that draws its thrills not from cheap tricks but ambiance and narrative. If you played Dear Esther and thought it could use some traditional narrative and more interactivity, here's what you bargained for. The game presents an intriguing and haunting narrative through the protagonist's comments (voiced by Derek Riddell), notes, and pieces of text. It's worth noting, that Montague's Mount might be the first game to extensively use the Gaeilge language, native to Ireland. With lots of intriguing puzzles, immersive gameplay, and chilling atmosphere, this title is a must have for all mystery and horror fans. The game supports English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, and Portuguese, and runs on both Windows and Mac OS X.
Let the dark and damp atmosphere of the Irish coastal countryside overwhelm and mystify you in Montague's Mount. Preorder the game now, for only $8.99. The 10% off discount offer lasts until the game is released, on Wednesday, October 8.
Interesting that Gaeilge isn't listed as a supported language.
hmm, seems like everybody wants a piece of the market of obviously starving horror fans :) not me though, but nice for others ;)

It's a secondary language in-game. You get text in Gaeilge and subtitles in the language you play in, from how the dev describes it.
This game supports the Oculus Rift.
Wishlisted.
Interesting... it sounds like it follows the Frictional School of Horror, which is great for me. Does anyone know if it has inventory puzzles and the like?
An indie first-person horror game? *gasps*

Didn't see that one coming!

:P
I like the setting, I like that it's not Myst-style (found a Youtube let's play) but I'm not going to pre-order a potentially horrible or broken game for $1 off.
So, this is like Dear Esther?

Gog.com have good games in its catalog, however I don't blame you. Thanks to indie revolution PC gamers are spoiled with a few hundreds of games released every year, and most of the games are in some way average. They are neither great nor crappy, but it's hard to be confident if the game will deliver decent amount of entertainment for you. I pre-ordered here Omerta: City of Gangsters, because I wanted this game to be good. I was disappointed with my couple attempts to play this game, but recently the game was changed by the developers to resolve some issues, so hopefully one day I will have some fun with it.
Episodic game by the way : http://www.polypusher.net/polypusher_images/montagues_mount_block.png
Where are the extras ?

I am aware of the good games on GOG, but there are also Omerta (as you mentioned) and Slender the Arrival for example.
GOG like any retailer will try to sell what they can, as they should.
I was more poking fun of the pre-order 'incentive' of one whole dollar off the sale price.
Pre-orders are inherently a gamble on whether the game will be good or not and as such the incentives should be better than that in order to entice people to spend money on unproven goods IMO.
After watching the "Let's Play" bit on YT, I think I will wait for a sale (and not sure then). Forty-five minutes to open a gate, makes me wonder how long I would personally stick with his game. I am sure this will fit some just right, and it is a nice looking game. I look forward to reading some of the reviews here on gog.
