I like the take one give one giveaway thread, but 95% of the time, I don't use steam, don't use desura, If you are like me, you will enjoy this thread.

The idea is to have a DRM free version of http://www.gog.com/forum/general/takeonegiveone_giveaway_thread/.
So that, it suit to the needs of GOG members who love DRM Freedom.

Rules are the same
1 - no asking for games via PM,
2 - no offers of F2P games, or games which were given away for free at anytime,
3 - you don't have to wait till a game being offered is claimed to make a new offer, and don't be silent if someone doesn't deliver; if no one asks for a game for 5 days, then the gifter can keep it if they like.

4 - With the obvious additional rule - DRM Free - (GOG.com / Humble link / Groupees or other DRM FREE form only)

*To thank GOG Forum for the very first GA I received - yesterday (Risen from RabiatorG0G), I will start by giving away Humble Triumph and Larian Weekly Bundle that just over to someone who missed it. It is a humble link, not for 1 game but a total of 4 games:

(Age of Wonder, Age of Wonder Shadow Magic, Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity)

Good idea. I do believe your rule 2 should have a time limit, like game offered for free in the last 6 months and there should be a list people can consult.
But all the games you can activate on Desura are DRM-FREE, and you can download their installers from the site if you don't want to use the Desura client (like me). You also can activate the Desura keys in the site without using the client, here: http://www.desura.com/gifts

justanoldgamer - Not sure a bit tedious to count and manage the months, not a absolute hard rule - just to avoid spamming and ensure quality.

Azrael360 - that's a bit arguable like the "DRM Free Steam" that can be played after removing from Steam folder, let's stick with DRM Free without client. Those who like can go the original take one give one thread.

Muttala: justanoldgamer - I will try to add that from times to times

Um, but they don't require a client.

But the keys to activate games on Desura DON'T NEED any client. The client is just optional. Just like GOG, you activate the game in the website, download the installer of any game, install, play and later uninstall, like any other GOG game.

Noted, however Desura seems to have huge number of lesser known games / unstable indie games.. to be honest most of them are not so appealing and contain many bugs (at least for me)... you guys okay with that?

Most games on Desura and ShinyLoot are just as DRM-free as games from GOG and easy to distribute via keys. Distributing DRM-free games from Groupees or Humble could prove a little difficult though, unless someone explicitly bought complete bundles or individual games as a gift. So what you're proposing will probably come down to exchanging unwanted or generously donated GOG keys only. Good luck with that! ;)

Bundles are cheap at least at the basic tier... Anyway I am ok if this thread doesn't work - I will see how the forum says.

Excellent idea! I think I have a few DRM-free games to giveaway, wouldn't mind contributing.

Let me do you a good one since I missed this opportunity in my own thread: let the good times roll!
Well, good idea, i can say about this thread.
OFC. my 5c:
1) as it was noted previously - desura is, MOSTLY, DRMfree (not mentioning various strange things like selling Steam-only games). I can also agree about quality of many games too and speed of updates. Desura need huge improvements. Still, Desura currently is place where many GREAT games released first (at least for pregreenlight time) - Frofatto, 30x9, TRI, Quasir-al-wasat and so on. Shame some devs once released on Steam decides to drop Desura

2) Groupees - i would not be that sure about them. Games updates is RARE, Also they once lost tons of stuff, and still not all was recovered (but most).
3) SinyLoot - some likes them, while i. mostly, not. Dunno why.
4) IndieGamestand - good DRM-free provider. Better then many (albeit there is feeling that guys lately a little losing interest)
5) Humble - very good, but there is less and less Drm-free stuff here....
I like this idea. A lot. I think as far as the concerns about Desura, Humble, etc. go, it's like anything else: caveat emptor. It's up to the trader to make sure of what they're trading for. Not hard to do a quick search to see where that game is coming from and whether it's going to fit the rules. But I think we can trust most of the good folks here on GOG to be fair and honest, no?
If this would be a GOG only Take-One-Give-One thread, now that would be even more interesting :D... I try to avoid the other services as much as possible, though I have some games on Shinyloot, Gamersgate, Desura etc. also, but I've come to the conclusion that I try to stick to 2 services if possible.. GOG for DRM-free and Steam if it's unavoidable.

Good thread, good idea, thanks.

However, there were mentioned Humble links. Correct me please if I'm wrong, but I thought that Humble sells only Steam keys, and 'DRM-free' there means 'DRM-free Steam' (not DRM-free in fact).
