First closed beta access keys distributed today!

We're excited to announce the launch of the closed Windows and Mac OS X multiplayer beta of CD Projekt RED's board game tie-in to the universe of Geralt of Rivia - <span class="bold">The Witcher Adventure Game</span>. Participants of the closed beta program will be among the first to help test and refine some of the multiplayer components of our upcoming <span class="bold">GOG Galaxy</span> service. The number of beta access codes we'll send out today will be limited, and the recepients will be picked among the users who have pre-ordered [url=http://www.gog.com/thewitcher3/en]The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com (each selected participant will be getting a set of two keys: one for them and one to give away to a friend). With the distribution of next batches of invitations planned as the event advances, players interested in joining the tests can still navigate to GOG.com/Galaxy and sign up for a chance to participate.

The Witcher Adventure Game takes players on a journey across the world of the Witcher as they assume the roles of four distinct characters known from the books and video games: Geralt of Rivia, monster slayer; Triss Merigold, cunning sorceress; Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior; and Dandelion, roguish bard. Each character has unique skills and multiple ways of overcoming obstacles - the choice is yours: do you fight your way to victory, call on your charm or try your hand at diplomacy? It's the true spirit of board gaming brought straight to your computer screen. Set in the mature and brutal world of The Witcher the game features 4 unique heroes with different skills and approaches to problem solving. With clear, simple rules and intuitive mechanics, tons of quest cards allow players to tell a new tale every time they play. Look adventure in the eye in a world you'll fall in love with!

The purpose of the beta is to test both The Witcher Adventure Game as well as some parts of the GOG Galaxy online infrastructure powering the multiplayer portion of the digitized board game. Over the course of the beta, new cards, mechanics and improvements will be added to polish the game further and deliver you the best possible experience - if you find yourself among the number of beta testers, please stay with us and check for updates regularly. We really do count on your feedback!

Finally, a short but important notice: while the beta is limited to the online portion of the game only, rest assured that the full game will also feature single-player modes such as “hot seat” and “human vs AI”. In other words yes, the game won't be exclusively multiplayer, and you will be able to play it offline, outside our optional GOG Galaxy client.

figgymanna: I thought Witcher 3 pre-order guaranteed you two beta keys.
Yes, this is correct - every user who pre-ordered TW3 on GOG will receive two keys: one for them and one for their friend. We're only just started sending the keys out, so they will be delivered in batches, to scale everything properly and offer best possible game stability and experience :). Nevertheless every person will receive their two keys and it's not going to be a very long wait - don't worry!

...please. :D
Just checked the email and I totally forgot about the redeem stuff. ^^
Can we test GOG galaxy at least? I want to give feedback now!
I don't want to be that guy but @ 0:07 where it says "Triss's Turn", it should spell out "Triss' Turn"

That is actually correct. For proper nouns it is correct to put 's if the name ends in s. It is only for nouns like say the word horses. It would be "the horses' manes were black".

You guys should take some programming lesson: it's not spelled "Triss's turn" but "String.Format("{0}'s turn" activePlayer.Name);"

:P

Antimateria: In the Witcher, you collected boob-cards and now it is actually a card game. Hopefully there are some pairs. ;)

KKai: May get rated adult only in Russia
TW2 got the local equivalent of AO. But seriously, it depends on Russia's relationship with Poland. If all's well, it gets a PG, but let even a single instance of a Polish person disapproving of Putin go viral and bam, banned for "contradicting traditional Russian values".

Nope, it's done to singular nouns that end with s for stylistic reasons, too (even a single s might be enough). Here's an Australian example that came to mind (turn on annotations).

ktchong: Doesn't look like an adventure game... looks more like a board game or collectible card game.

Crosmando: Why is it called an "adventure game" when it looks like a computerized board game?
Because IT IS a board game. Adventure games belong to very strong subgenre in tabletop gaming, sometimes identified as Ameritrash. Popular adventure (Ameritrash) titles: Talisman, Descent, Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, Battlestar Galactica, Twilight Imperium. Fantasy Flight Games is probably the best known publisher of adventure games. Anyway The Witcher Adventure Game isn't a collectible card game. There are no microtransactions, boosters etc. You buy it once, just like any other game on GOG.

Any reason on why make this personal? Or you just don't care?
Any other spare key?

I can give you a Torchlight code in exchange.
Thanks
Woo, got my keys! I'm off to see the Witcher, the wonderful Witcher of GOG. :)
The Witcher Adventure Game sounds like a boring game. I will not play it... and as such, the keys are wasted on me.

Who wants them?
