We're fighting the depressing weather that announces the inevitable approach of autumn with an awesome weekend promo!

Not so long ago we had the Atari-Hasbro games on promo, and this weekend we're putting the 20(!) remaining titles from Atari on offer! So how about getting some of the greatest classics from the Atari catalogue with a flat 50% discount? Get a half-off on The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (only $4.99), Roller Coaster Tycoon series, Outcast ($2.99), Master of Orion series, Alone in the Dark games ($2.99 each) and more! No matter how many games you buy, you get the 50% discount. Check the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/atari_collection]promo page to see the whole offer and don't wait as the promo ends on Monday, October 17 at 11:59 a.m. EDT.
Wow this is one of the most impressive promos i have ever seen!

Many genres included: from military sim and space sim to adventure and RTS.

Highly unlikely not to please everyone

I predict many unforeseen expenses and broken budgets this weekend. :)
I've played the Alone in the Dark series before, and still have the boxed version of AitD 2 (includes the first game). So this is tempting, but I haven't played most of the other games on the list. Blood a little, but never finished it.

I do want to sell all my boxed games though. I wonder how much the original Alone in the Dark 2 (big box version) is worth anyway?

gamez79: is it safe to skip Roller Coaster tycoon 1 and go straight to 2 or will i be missing out on something if I did?

DrIstvaan: Personally, I like the consistence of RCT1. It's really, almost awkwardly visible that the developers tried to increase the number of rides dramatically by creating new rides out of the various modes of already existing ones. (An example: in Rollercoaster Tycoon, you have the "Boat hire" attraction, with various boats, such as swans or trycicles, available after research. In RCT2, every single type of boat counts as a unique attraction.)
So, while I say RCT2 *is* a good game, it's not an improved version of its prequel, and doesn't make it obsolete.
Thanks ill get the first one to start and get the 2nd one later
Awesome, back to the good old 50 % off sales instead of the dingy new sliding scale. I realize the difference is only a few bucks, but the psychological impact in terms of making me impulsively buy games is immense (just picked up TA, Witcher, RCT 2, Outcast, and master of magic).
Are any of the space/flight sims on sale games that a complete newb in the genre could get into? I have absolutely no experience with flight/combat sims, but I'm interested in trying one. That also means I don't have a joystick or any form of flight control beyond M&KB.
An awesome promo, but I'm not sure I'm going to buy anything - nothing there jumps out at me and my backlog is already huge. Plus I already bought the whole D&D promo last time and I think that's enough of my money I'll give Atari for a while :)

I think eventually you'll buy something from this promo :)

anjohl: If this is the "Atari Collection". where are the DnD games?
Those are the company's big money makers on this site (Atari I mean) they're unlikely to put them in a promo like this, unless they feel really generous at Christmas.

They were just on sale recently, so I doubt very much that they'll be on sale again for quite some time.

EDIT: Also, they're now Hasbro titles or something along that line.

Roman5: Not a bad promo, however I'm afraid that I'll pass this week

Even if there are games which I do want to pick up: AITD Trilogy, Star control 1+2, 50% I'm afraid isn't an incentive that's big enough

Now if this system used the "The more you buy, the more the discount you recieve" like last week and for example...offered me...70% if I bought 10 games, I would go for it

Hopefully the discount rates next weekend will be bigger
Wow, if GOG reads this after last week's complaints its head will explode :D
A zombie just kicked my ass in Alone In The Dark.

That's what I get for trying to use a sabre against one! This game is awesome.

Most likely, but I don't know what. I'm not much of a strategy gamer, though I already have MoM 1+2 and MoM. Own AitD 1 from a magazine and wasn't too crazy with the first 15 minutes of it, own Outcast on a CD, own Blood 1 on a CD (w/o expansion), own Witcher on Steam. Maybe the Independence War games, but I saw that people have been having trouble running them accelerated....

Then again, I owned half the games from the D&D promo on CDs/DVDs and I got those anyway....

I know it sounds a bit silly but Last week it was the exact same problem for me

The maximum possible discount that was available last week was only 50% and that was only when you bought a certain number of games

As I said previously, if the maximum possible disount is 60%-70% for buying more titles at once then I always take advantage of the offer

This week...I'll pass

Now that I think about it...in this regard Steam is much better

Weekend deals of 60-80% off

Midweek madness usually 50-75% off. This is every week not once every 2 weeks

Not to mention specials everyday

GOG still has a long way to go to catch up to them in terms of what they can offer in Sales and Special offers

In my experience M&KB just makes all space/flight sims too difficult.

B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th is a bomber sim. Even though I have never played it, trying out bombers in other sims, even though they are slow planes, I find I still need a joystick to control them properly.

I-War may be more suited for M&KB control because you control a hulking capital ship and the Newtownian physics means big ships take time to manoeuvre. I don't remember much about I-War except that there was more focus on ship management than quick and easy space combat. I still pulled out the joystick for the game though.

Someone else that have played these games more recently could tell you more.

If you have a joystick and willing to buy a game not on sale, the Wing Commander series are easy space sims to get into.
I like that you don't have to get the bundle to get the savings. I picked up Witcher and may get Master of Orion 1 & 2 this weekend.
