We should send them flowers and chocolates! Because compared to their overall customer base we might not be that big of a deal, but apparently we are at least relevant enough to them to release their games on here and we can certainly occupy a larger part of their thinking than we deserve by being exceptionally sweet to them. :) Because remember: The guys at Ubisoft/EA are just people afterall and if the gog-community can occupy a place in their hearts and minds, they might be very sweet to us in return.

So whenever they release a title here on gog, just send them chocolates and flowers with a greeting cards saying something along the lines of "Hey Ubisoft, thank you for releasing [GAME] on go.com. It is greatly appreaciated. Love, the gog.com community."

If just one us does it, there is a miniscule chance it will be noticed by or forwarded to someone relevant in the decision making process, but if ten people do this everytime a game is released on gog, inevitably employees at Ubisoft will start talking to each other about this* and then sooner than later everyone at Ubisoft/EA will know and that's when we win. >:D

Victory though kindness and appreciation. What do you guys and gals think?

(*Also, they'll start gaining weight.)
It's a shame Origin and Uplay get in the way of more games being released here. It's been such a long time since the last Electronic Arts release and while the Ubisoft releases have been more frequent, we're still lacking a lot of their big titles.
Ok, spit it out, do you work for EA or Ubisoft?
If Ubisoft would just rerelease XIII here on GOG my life would be complete. Miss that jewel god damn it, and i had over a year to buy it, but thats just my two cents. At lease i can dream.
As for other releases like Ubisoft and EA, they will come. GOG is growing and becoming a very important part in the gaming community, just give it time.EA on the other hand is very fragile and the games come here like a bottle in a stormy sea.Origin is definitely in the way, but who knows, maybe the change their mind as its a win-win situation anyway ;D. Cheers.
mleh a single postcard would be enough
So is there some sort of mathematical formula for evaluating the amount of flowers and chocolates with game releases?

I don't think they can, if it was removed it was probably due to them losing the rights of publishing the game.

I see, but is it possible for some other company to buy the publishing rights from Ubisoft, or can Ubisoft renew the licence since the licence holder is Dargaud(the game story is based on the comic of the same name)so that clear as day and not too complicated except for the "where's daaa moneyzzzz" part. Im buffled :).
Why single out those two? Every DRM-free release is a good thing, and we should show thanks for every one of them.

Eh, i don't think so, is really a great demand for XIII that would justify in Ubisoft acquiring the rights again? Not to say that Ubisoft is currently in a bad spot, between the recent "failures", the upcoming ones (honestly i don't see FC Primal selling as much as the previous ones) and the Vivendi interest on them... I don't know...
Probably be more meaningful to them if we buy the games when they're released here...
I'd suggest instead of paying money for flowers/ sweets/ whatever that may not reach their intended target, you can just buy two copies of each EA/ Ubisoft game released here. That way, it should generate more revenue, so more money for them that (hopefully) leads to more releases and of course more games to donate to the Community Giveaway/ TBBBBOB. You don't have to buy every release twice of course, just the ones that you really like and you think they will make a nice gift. ;)
Can you please explain, what exactly do you mean by "Vivendi interest" as this topic is really interesting. Holy Molly if XIII would to rerelease here again, i promise they would "feel the demand" ;) here very much( not to be rude).I would buy multiple copies for my buddies since their PC's flatout on this game xD. Cheers
