HypersomniacLive: Which will hopefully translate into more, and more frequent, releases from them here.

On a side note - I wonder if part of the hiatus is that they can't come to an agreement with GOG.
My thoughts trend more towards the feeling that they tried this as an experiment and decided they don't make enough cash on it to bother releasing more of their games. I hope we're both wrong though.

tfishell: True but some people already own all the EA games here! (Not me admittedly) :-P
I have two thoughts on that:

1) the number of people that own all of them are likely very few (negligible with respect to the total potential number of GOG buyers)

2) the OP seems to be referencing what to do if more games are released in the future, so this issue would likely not apply. :)

Trilarion: Why do you think Activision might have pulled out by now?
Well their focus seems to be completely on their new games now; they couldn't even be bothered to discuss SWAT 4 with PC Gamer - " an Activision representative said the company's legal department was unable to devote resources into seeing if the company had a claim over the SWAT 4 IP. Given that Activision's legal team couldn't even be bothered to look into the issue, it doesn't seem like a SWAT 4 resurrection is very high on the company's list of priorities. "

So I'm just surprised Activision is still here, unless their contract with GOG hasn't expired yet.

I can believe that. Oh well, at least we have plenty of other games here.

GR00T: Probably be more meaningful to them if we buy the games when they're released here...

They should then buy a few dozen more copies as gifts. Whether or not you give them away matters less... actually, scratch that, it does matter at least a little bit, if they don't give the gift packages away, some of the people you would have given the gifts to may buy the games for themselves, generating another sold copy that likely wouldn't have happened if they would have been given the gift.

Yes it would. Get into the mind of a sale analyst at EA:
So, every time we release another game at GOG, we get several hundred thousand copies sold of every game we have there --on the same day-- and it happens consistently. The bosses should probably get to know of this curious pattern.

When this is the recommendation then one should be consequent and never buy during sales too. After all they look for the number of copies sold but even more for the sales they make.

So a few dozen more copies as gifts for normal price and not give them to anyone. That should have the maximum effect.

Of course.
I actually rate Origin as the only Client where one can get immediate, no fail, almost obnoxiously blip service. But the technical march forward also leaves your war buddy to bleed behind - I had to rebuy DA:O (Dragon Age Origin) digitally because the physical disc did no longer launch.

If EA released games on gog,com - I would tell them to first shove their hortonomical time wasters (*) somewhere deep; and empower BioWare to be both original and PC friendly again.

The original creation matters. The distribution is but convenience. ;-)

(*) I refer to mandatory flower picking and mushroom husbandry in DA:I. Healing magic and basic potions back, please, anyone?

Utuzuu: We should send them flowers and chocolates! Because compared to their overall customer base we might not be that big of a deal, but apparently we are at least relevant enough to them to release their games on here and we can certainly occupy a larger part of their thinking than we deserve by being exceptionally sweet to them. :)

Victory though kindness and appreciation. What do you guys and gals think?

(*Also, they'll start gaining weight.)
You are being fully ironic, right?

I am maybe a little more when I say:

if you have to WASD and looting animate "time waste" your flowers and chocolates- why do you care whom distributed u this privilege?

Besides picking up the ingredients, yerself - loot-animating of course - as opposed to having a story to tell; and a compelling game to publish?

I care less about through which channel EA publishes than what BW writes in substance, and if any of it is still for their PC fans of old.
