So not sure if this is true, that's why I'm here, hopefully this is the right section for it. Anyway I recently bought the Witcher 3 wild hunt from Steam, never played anything else from the series so I know nothing of it, but a friend of mine who has played the older games told me the main character you play, Geralt, eats children?

It sounded a bit too much to believe, why would anyone want to play the game if that was true, but then I remembered the high mature rating on the game, which now has me wondering. I couldn't find any answers on Google and frankly I don't want to search too much and spoil myself so I didn't search too much.

I haven't started the game yet, been too busy with real life, but I rather not have this nasty surprise as I had originally thought that the guy you play is supposed to be a good guy of sorts. I'm not one to play bad, so if it is true then this game may not be for me. But that's why I'm here, I'm not fully sure if it is true or not and hoped the community of the game could help.

phaolo: Yes, he's communist.
Why does he then? Is it something his kind has to do? I saw his eyes so I assume he's not human. Or does he just have a rather dark taste for them?

I'm just joking lol!
Your friend made fun of you :P
Are there even games in which an human protagonist eats children??
(maybe some obscure crappy indie?)

Are you trolling now? Geralt doesn't eats children. Neither in the game nor in the books.
Not sure what he eats, because I didn´t play the games*. But I heard he f***s everything that has a heartbeat.

*You want to know why I don´t want to play the games? Well, a picture says more than a thousand words: http://d3u67r7pp2lrq5.cloudfront.net/product_photos/46794898/WitcherKalender2017Web4_klein_original.jpg

In Rebuild 3 you can eat humans when you run out of food. Not sure about children though, might be possible that you only eat the adults.
Wat

This might just be the first time a thread here made me genuinely laugh out loud. Not chuckle, not snicker but just outhright laugh. Oh man, thanks for that.
Wasn´t there a cannibal perk in the Fallout games? Can´t remember how it worked. Maybe a mod was necessary to be able to kill a npc that wasn´t an adult.

Something tells me your friend is getting ready to present you with an invisible trophy of gullibility.

No not trolling, just wary. But from what I'm seeing here, the claim was false. Though I'm not sure if I could walk by children in the game without thinking it, but at least I know they're safe from the main character.
I'm glad I was able to amuse and I apologize for the possibly silly question. Gullible? Probably, I didn't believe it at first but then saw how mature the game was so I felt there was a good chance it was true. I have a soft spot for children so I couldn't play a character that harms them, so I'm glad to see it doesn't seem true.

Actually, I think of Geralt as most human or even humanish person from the Witcher world (despite his mutations).

Now I wonder. It is mature to eat children?

In Fallout and Fallout 2 you could kill children, but not eat them. But they were annoying, thieving rascals... so you could justify it for yourself if you wanted.
