Steam has localised currency for India, so does Origin. I am curious if GOG.com is even working on this aspect?

Nope. And it's not going to happen anytime soon.
So in the meantime Indians have to pay 2 times/4 times what it costs on steam!!!
I imagine they'll be prioritizing their biggest markets for regional pricing and I don't think India is a very big consumer. I don't remember if we can choose between the available currencies though.

There is no way to know if they are working on adding more, since gog normally does not talk about such things.
The only indications we had for them to add more currencies and languages was when they looked for hiring people with certain language skills. Other than that, there is no clue on things happening until they actually introduce them.

You can vote here, not sure how much impact it will have but it's better than nothing I guess.
Edit: it does cover more than what you've asked though

I really believe if they add INR as an option and localise the price that would attract some of people from steam as steam has prices set really good for the local market.

Maybe, depends on how many people actually know about GOG. Lower prices will bring in some people regardless of country, but I'd also imagine they'll look at current traffic from each country, as well as many other factors like the country's presence on steam (which might be a good signifier of their own market potential).

India is not even in top 3 video-game pirate countries.
India is ranked 37 on the number of steam users : http://steamspy.com/country/
Considering that, countries like Brazil, China, Turkey etc that are higher on the list may be favored.

Soon.........
Probably because most people are too busy pirating movies and TV shows. Netflix should really start an advertising campaign, seeing how they included every country but no one seems to have noticed.

or may be it just not in the record.
Since sometimes piracy happens offline too.
Like one friend giving game to another and then him to another and chain is carried on.

Yes, that's very common. Can't imagine that continuing for long though, with games getting so large.

Netflix won't pickup pace anytime soon in India, our network infrastructure is not good enough to give a good viewing experience. (overall I mean, some people could have great connectivity but most don't)
Also most of steam users from India must be playing f2p games like tf2, dota 2, etc.

I guess there is a big divide between "India" and "Bharat".
India has Netflix, Internet and McDonalds while Bharat has TV ads about why to use toilet and not to shit on streets.

McDonalds as a symbol of progress? :D
Whew that's comedy gold right there. Might even have Bharfat instead of Bharat thanks to them.
