darkredshift: No, a port of the original with better controls, the ability to use modern graphics or either of the two previous versions, all censorship from the other two completely removed, and the sequel finally released. it would need to be Rare themselves that do it, not Microsoft because after L&R, Microsoft can't be trusted.

Besides, Microsoft made computers and Windows OSs, not just the Xbox etc. so they shouldn't have any problems in letting Rare have free reign with the port instead of making shitty Kinect or Banjo Kazooie games.
a better question is does microsoft WANT to ?

ms doesnt really care much about pc gaming despite what they say if there ever is going to be a conker remake it will be an xbox exclusive
because that would drive sales of the xbox one and that is what ms wants to establish their platform further

and rare isnt rare anymore
the rare we know died in 2003
most of the people involved with rare's heydays ( ie the n64 output ) have long since left the company

rare these days is a paltry shadow of its former self

and rare is wholly owned by microsoft
rare does what microsoft wants the distinction these days is minimal

rare is not a near mythical faultless oppressed developer which you seem to think it is
its a studio wholly owned by microsoft and as such it produces what microsoft wants them to produce

that is how these things work

Of course Microsoft wants too. If they could, they would slip into your house at night, pinch your wallet and take all the money. Remember the Kinect always wants to be on.

On making a re-make of Conker. I doubt it will be made, but I know if they thought it would make enough money they would do the remake.
The problem with Conker (as I remember) was he was mouthy and the game was fairly rude. Although the graphics could be upgraded and the story probably tweaked, he would be a nightmare with the SJW's as soon as he opened his mouth.
So Microsoft would be better off re-releasing Halo again.

in other words microsoft doesnt want to ;p

conker was actually a parody of action movie tropes
and i think microsoft wouldnt bother because the IP isnt high profile enough
its not a widely regarded missing classic

its not seen in the same light as banjo kazooie or goldeneye
its not halo or gears of war or fable

its a niche title at best
its just not worth the effort

int he end it was the crude humor the crass parodies and the speech and mp3's ( on a n64 cardridge ) that made the game notable
the gameplay it self is nothing special

As I said, humanity can dream. I hope they make it but that doesn't mean they will. I've recently completed L&R and watched an LP of the original before writing the original post and I thought that a proper faithful remake would work because L&R isn't as good by comparison, I don't own nor want an N64 and I don't know if my computer can handle an emulator without my antivirus software going apeshit at non-present malware like it did when I got a Mac emulator for Pathways into Darkness.

It's a pity too because Banjo Kazooie is shit and Goldeneye now has its remake. I don't see them finally making a Perfect Dark 2 anytime soon after Zero turned to be the original but with less originality and more frustrating difficulty. It could be possible though because they helped 4J with Perfect Dark XBLA and that was better than the N64 one.

I do find issues with CBFD's gameplay myself; mainly the annoying stunlock when taking hits and the jump button sometimes not registering for example, made even worse by the Xbox version causing Conker to slide away sometimes when stunned when moving, causing him to fall in a lava pit, or his Tail chopper not lasting long enough and dumping him in a different pit.

^ that was NOT goldeneye that remake thing
it was call of duty with gaime bond thrown in

call of bond if you wil

i played the original n64 goldeneye i still have it ( and an n64 )
they are nothing alike
the game play of the original is still better

Yeah, the original looks more like a primitive Perfect Dark, but in a good way not to mention the "get down" glitch being hilarious.

I've only played Goldeneye Reloaded because like Conker and Perfect Dark, I have never owned nor do I want an N64.

If they did a Goldeneye Reloaded classic version i.e. the original done Perfect Dark XBLA style with a voiceover instead of those tiny subtitles as opposed to the COD and corn on the COB we currently have, I would play it instead.

There's always fan-made ports and mods for Conker and Goldeneye if the remake we get sucks and the publisher doesn't care.

Examples include: Half Life Source and Black Mesa

Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider 1 and 2 revised (I would have added the original Tomb Raider Anniversary by Core Design but that was cancelled due to Eidos being assholes)

Sonic the Hedgehog GBA and the Christen Whytehead ports for tablet PDAs and the Classic Collection port

Doom 3 the original version and Doom 3 Classic (its terribly unfinished though in that it only has Episode 1. that's because only episode 1 was shareware. It will also be made obsolete by Doom 4)

I'd add more examples but there aren't that many as most other fan remakes only exist because there is no remake or the official remake we got was good either by the developers or another company e.g. Halo 1 and 2 Anniversary, Rise of the triad 2013 and Painkiller Hell and Damnation. (although that last one is also a sequel) and The Stanley parable mod and the remake/full game by Galactic Café.

My understanding is that the UK doesn't get much in the way of fresh weed. Mostly just hash and it's terrible hash that is mostly dog shit and shoe polish.

That wasn't a problem at all: that's what made him good. He gave the middle finger to crappy kids game stereotypes by being a cartoonish version of Duke Nukem 3D mixed with Mario 64.

If Social Justice Warriors can't accept the idea of cutsie little animals evolving into adult media outside fan fiction or South Park, then too bad that's their problem, not ours. If censors and other such scum can't accept it, then I would gladly execute the lot of them for crimes against creative freedom in a cartoonishly violent way like something from Itchy and Scratchy.

Sorry if I am coming off as an SJW myself because I'm not. It's just that I hate it when censors and big companies remaking or localising something ruin it and make it shit because what isn't "safe" and "kid friendly" makes them soil their trousers and have a seizure because they fell down the stairs and banged their heads, losing their higher brain functions as children.

An example would be the late 4kids productions or "4shits" as I like to them when they wrecked Sonic X and several other TV Tokyo anime. They were sued by TV Tokyo and made bankrupt because the censorship they did was illegal and they didn't actually have their permission to make the dubs anyway.

I also apologise for droning on like this. I have Asperger's Syndrome, OCD and ADD.

If we can't get a proper remake of Conker, then there's always fan ports/mods like with Half Life Source and Black Mesa.. I mainly hope for a PC port of CBFD because PCs don't have the restrictions that consoles have imposed of them by their makers.

Good thing I just drink coffee and soft drinks. ;) I think our government smoke all the weed (as well as eat all the pies) and give the hash to Essex and Glasgow.

Cant see them reviving a game that didn't really sell very well.

Look at System Shock 2 and Bioshock. (despite that game wasn't as good as either System Shock)

But Bioshock isn't a "port", its a totally different game.
I've always wanted to play Conker's Bad Fur Day! Is there really a plan to port it to the PC?

No. This was simply wishful thinking on the OP's part.

True. Its a spiritual successor though, like what Perfect Dark is to Goldeneye, or Halo is to Marathon.

True, but the original question was PC port which is what I based my reply on :)
I have a Steelbox Perfect Dark on one of my Xboxes, I think it was a launch title for 360 afaik, it sold VERY badly too iirc, I don't think nostalgia is what it used to be :) :P

I don't know Marathon, But I do like Halo, so I must check it out, cheers :)
