shmerl: RedHat is paid by industrial customers. Do yourself a favor and read on the subject first.

Johnathanamz: What industrial customers? Car manufacturers?
A lot of different companies. See https://www.redhat.com/en/customers/our-customers

As I said, do yourself a favor and research the subject first before you'll look completely and utterly ridiculous.

Oh look Dreamworks is on there, ING is on there, CINGA is a damn Fortune 500 company, Verison is a Fortune 500 company. Those are Fortune 500 companies if not close to it and others I see are small businesses or universities, like I said.
Why are you even on GOG if you love DRM and closed source products Johnathanamz?

Also we're not talking about Linux at all here. Just OpenGL

It's like talking to a wall. Amongst RedHat customers are giant companies which run thousands of servers in their clusters. I bet you didn't even imagine such use cases exist.

I read their customer lists I don't see regular people like me or you making donations enough for them to make a living without the help of Fortune 500 companies or small businesses. What part of this do you not understand.

If Fortune 500 companies and small businesses didn't help those RedHat people probably wouldn't be able to have a house or have food on their table.

What about this one? https://www.oracle.com/search/customers/

Oracle is one of the biggest database management system in the world.... and it's using exclusively Linux

All funded by companies as well.

Says in each part Company:

Then the list all the way on the left says Engineered Systems, Industrial, etc all of which only companies can fund.

Not a person like me who would probably donate $10 dollars (USD) a month or Sarah Gur donating $100 dollars (USD) a month.

Read slowly, and absorb. They have a lot of big industrial customers. Really big. And they are quite profitable. If you missed that - read again.

That's exactly what business is. Your customers pay you. Did you ever learn any economics?

I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMERS WHICH ARE COMPANIES.

I'm talking about John Smith, Sarah Gur, Amanda Rizle, Tim Mooch, Aaron Ale, Mike Long.

I'm talking about individual people donating $10 dollars (USD) a month or $1,000 dollars (USD) a month.

Can you read? Do you understand anything I am saying?

Then don't talk about free software being useless. Because a lot of big companies use it and are commercial partners with those who develop said free software. Or to put it shortly, what you said above is complete and utter nonsense.

Sigh. I will try to explain one more time.

I was never talking about companies saying free software is useless.

I was talking about average people like Sarah Gur or whatever think free products suck.

The part where I talked about my work. My work uses some free software and as I said gives out papers, pens, markers, etc for free, which the free loaders at my work stock up on, but when they see free software like Linux they say it sucks.

I myself use Intuit for tax filings and that runs on RedHat. I don't care about Linux at all. When I talk about C++ and development of video games and programs to my real life friends who have no clue what I talk about just look at me and say what? Then when I mention free software they say I prefer to purchase my software, just like me.

All this time I was talking about average people not giving a damn not people working for businesses and billion dollars (USD) companies.

So first learn the difference between not paid (free) and liberated (free). I'm talking about free software (libre). Not sure what you are trying to say, but the argument "software sucks because it's free" is completely wrong. Measuring anything by your friends only is also completely unprofessional if you are making absolutist statements like above.

Ok. So about 95% of the softwares existing in the world sucks
