Today I'm losing all My magazine collection.

These magazines I've had since 1998 and f*cking rats killed them.

I'm legit crying right now, All my wonderful PC mags, Now going to landfill

That's a bummer. I sometimes wish I kept my gaming mags. I assume there's an online depository of old mags somewhere?

Today I was made sad by the news that cockroaches are developing an immunity to pesticide.

Most are way too damaged and there isn't in Australia anyway

The realization that even if i achieve something, others will blow it up behind my back and scatter it in the winds. And the realization that no matter the level of my skills, everything ends up being in vain. Being the best, yet always ending up far below the tiniest, the lowliest and the worst, is really sad... The only thing that somehow makes it a bit less sad, is that pretty much everything, is already "rigged" and "scripted", even before i step in to act/perform. Sheet!

I think a more pressing concern is the rat infestation in your house? Or was this a basement or shed?

Well, if you were using them, then the rats wouldn't eat them. IF not, they were just taking up space anyhow. It might be hard, but the rats did you a favor.
Since 1998 in Australia? So I'm guessing a vast amount of PCPowerPlays?

About ten years ago I chose to get rid of all mine dating right back to the original Issue #1 with the Duke on the cover.

I still often have conversations with people about games that did or did not get released and can think of just the right article about it and remember that they're gone.

They were a fantastic historical archive of games and hardware progression. Still regret getting rid of them.

As for what made me sad;

I opened any number of news sites and rued the state of world and the human race.

That's not canonical. To elevate yourself above the first six paths of existence, the lower planes, you need to go through the sixth one, usually called "rapture". To break through to the higher planes of existence, you need "contentment", "indulgence" even and the ephemeral happiness this state brings.

You cannot possibly hope to reach knowledge and vie for wisdom, unless you fully understand and partake into, the lower things.

Is there ANYTHING they aren't or don't become immune to? They are nigh unkillable(well beyond stepping on them I suppose).

Ghetto crime would skyrocket then.

My bad...I kid.

The hunters would be upset then, I guess.

You resist temptation, when you accept that it is a distraction.
