Up to 80% off Quest for Infamy, Gone Home, Never Alone, Lumino City, and more!

Videogame storytelling is in a way similar to flirting techniques: others believe in chatting their audience up and others prefer driving the message across with meaningful visual cues and creative use of sound. Are you an advocate of the "show, don't tell" approach or do you enjoy the mental imagery invoked by carefully arranged words? Whichever your predilection, here you will find games that cater to both appetites, standing Words Apart from each other but converging at the same destination: a captivating narrative.

An exercise in subtle expressiveness and emotional storytelling, Never Alone is a puzzle/platformer centered around the unusual friendship between a Native alaskan girl and a fox, as they struggle to survive a fierce, never-ending snowstorm.

Gone Home's protagonist may not say much but the game's story is told using other people's words. Either through newspaper clippings, confidential correspondence, or diary entries, you gradually uncover a bittersweet tale of forbidden love and dark family secrets.

The astonishing paper-craft visuals and melodic soundtrack of Lumino City are the perfect complements to its limited text. After all, one doesn't need too many distractions when experimenting with smart, tactile puzzles.

Whether you like your games chatty like Quest for Infamy and The Curious Expedition, or laconic like Samorost 2 and Among the Sleep, you will find something that speaks to you inside Words Apart. And if you are one of those people who only talk in numbers, there are even some pretty nice discount tags here, going up to 80% off. Now that's a story worth telling!
The promo will last until April 1, 10:59 AM GMT.
Easter Bunny brought me this year: Quest for Infamy and Order of the Throne. Thank you bunny!

Celton88: Why is that?
To be honest, I am not exactly sure. The Samorost games weren't ones I dealt with personally so I don't have all the details...

I don't know why they don't have it. But you can play it on the developers website since it's free:

That is probably why then. And if you can play it on the website, is it flash based?

Yes, it is.
Why is there no direct link to this promo on the front page?

Yes it's Flash based.
It would still be nice to have it as free game in the game library or added as bonus content to Samorost 2 and 3.

HunchBluntley: Why is there no direct link to this promo on the front page?
That's weird. There was a link earlier today, but for some reason, now the promo's only listed in the "Headlines" section.
I REALLY like the theme of this sale. It's a clever idea to juxtapose wordless adventures against chatty ones!

Wordless:
Never Alone
Samorost 2
Among the Sleep
Lumino City

Chatty:
Quest for Infamy
The Curious Expedition
Gone Home
Pilot Brothers
Order of the thorne: the king's challenge

But no good outdated games here? Bad Mojo would fit perfectly..
Never Alone looks good. Unsure about the rest.
Are the reviews about Gone Home right? (seems be pretty negative judging gog reviews...)
Curious expedition looks interesting...

Gone Home is decent for a walking sim, wouldn't say it's the best thing ever but it was fun while it lasted.
