If you missed our Rise of the Triad giveaway, no worries - it's now 80% off for the remainder of this entire bloody affair. This is as good a time to get in on the fun, as we anticipate a big, important Rise of the Triad (2013) technical update! Soon, you'll be facing off against your Steam buddies on equal terms and equal footing.

The Silver Bullets promo will last until Thursday, March 19, at 3:59 PM GMT.

*Thanks everyone! We're all out of free copies of Rise of the Triad. However, you can now get it at 80% off in the Silver Bullets promo!
If you already got the promo once the button won't work. I cleared my cache and reloaded the front page and the banner properly showed that I had already hit it once.
Well the promotion was first announced I seemed to have got a key. Then the promotion was removed and I once again had to try and get a key. So this is the screen we get when we get a key. This time I hope I don't get screwed over.

Thank you very much GOG!
Got it now
Thanks from the free game.
Anyways, as to the promo, I'm vaguely tempted by UT 2004 - but hows the singleplayer - is it just a case of multiplayer but with bots?
Seems sorted now - thanks Gog!

stg83: Well the new users aren't aware that emails from GOG mostly arrive fashionably late. ;)

darthspudius: News users coming JUST to get a freebie you mean. I'll bet most of them do not stick around!
Yep, that is what I meant and its also exactly what GOG was hoping for with this promo which has big Sign up/Log in buttons right there on the promo banner.

tinyE: Whence we click, will the code be sent or the game just added?
Yes
No matter how you put it, this will attract thousands or more people to GoG and thats a good thing
Thank you gog ;)
Thanks, GOG!
Sorry. I've just hopped into this thread now and I didn't read all the previous posts.

Someone, please, enlighten me. Is the "Steam friends" reference from GOG's promotion an unnoficial announcement concerning Galaxy?

NoNewTaleToTell: Dear GOG,

I own two of the games in this promo (Aliens Vs Predator 2000 and Duke Nukem 3D) but they aren't showing up as owned (on the promo page nor the checkout page). Is it a bug, server problem, new feature or what?

Your pal,
NoNewTaleToTell
That's actually a feature.

Since it takes a lot of CPU time and hard disc activity to look up which of the games each person who opens the website already has and present them with a personalized view GOG simply switches the personalized view off during extreme server loads so that many more people can check the website without the servers becoming unresponsive.

They also did so during the Insomnia Sale or during most other giveaways.

The game is still very supported through user-run multiplayer servers.

You won't have any issues finding games to play in.

ETA: GOT ONE! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
