ChristopherOdd and the Paragons of Good Fun!

Time for another guest celebrity appearance, then! For this special Weekend Sale we've reached out to one of our good friends from the faraway land of YouTube. Meet Mr. Odd, a gentleman of good taste and streamer extraordinaire, who agreed to pick out his favorite games from our catalog and share them with you, served with some fetching discounts on top.

Anyone looking for a tactical skirmish between giant mechs that really really don't like each other, need to look no further than BATTLETECH. The game has also been recently updated to offer a faster, smoother experience to those who want it.

Perhaps the fact that this heroic bug is a Hollow Knight explains why the devs got inspired to fill it to the brim with frequent content updates, making it one of the most delightful metroidvanias in recent years.

The Odd Weekend Sale ends July 23th, 10pm UTC.

Oh, and those who prefer to complete their collection with some timeless classics, might want to check out our special Interplay Sale as well.
Whaaat? An odd promo with oddities? I don´t remember approving that.
Eyyyy, it's one of the few youtubers/streamers I follow. :D Get Wanderbots & Northernlion on next and I'll have my GOG promotion bingo card complete.

IronArcturus: Has anyone tried that Duskers game?
Duskers is an extremely immersive space ship/station crawler that requires a bit of strategy (and sometimes sheer fortunate probability/luck), but it is very rewarding. On GOG, I purchased the game in September of 2017 (the last time that it was 50% off), and I can honestly say that I wish that I had obtained it much sooner.

One thing to note is that the game uses the keyboard as its only source of user input. During exploration, you control everything through the command-line interface, but you can also remotely control each robot with your arrow keys (provided that you have switched to the appropriate camera view).

I definitely recommend watching (at least) a few minutes of gameplay, to determine if Duskers interests you. (^_^)

IronArcturus: What engine does it use?
It uses the Unity game engine (version 5.3.4f1, to be precise).

The latest version (1.04) was released on July 8th, 2016 (two years ago). For me, the Linux version has been completely stable without any issues. However, with the same version, some Windows users have experienced occasional crashing.

eiii: I do not like these partner promo pages. Owned and not owned games are not separated, you cannot select games to add to the basket, you cannot even sort the offers by rating...

GOG, why every new thing you introduce has to be worse than solutions you already have? Why can't you just use the "normal" promo page with all the good features as a template and add the "partner" stuff to that page?
GOG likes to waste resources reinventing the wheel, and then failing to make it mostly round. That's why we have this crappy forum instead of something really nice like SMF or reddit.

Very cool that I even got a blue response, thanks. :)

I'll also throw in Jim Sterling even though he's a controversial figure. And James Rolfe (AVGN) and Mike Mattei.

Lone_Scout: I wonder, am I the only one who doesn't know (and doesn't care about) all these youtubers, twitch streamers, etc?

Anyway, it is a very nice weekend sale. Goodbye, remaining funds...
Same here my friend, couldn't care less for trends like these. By the way, an Odd sale without Oddworld in it? :)

Well seriously then, tget in contact with Wanderbots and Northernlion. They're cool dudes and play prolly like 90% of GOG's games library.
Thanks for introducing me to a great PC game reviewer Gog! He has a good eye for game mechanics which is close to the standard of the great TB. TB left a big vacuum in critical reviewing in his passing.

Niggles: is Surviving Mars worth it?
I haven't played it, myself, but I watched a couple of streams of it when it was released, looks like an OK city builder set in Mars. There was a decent amount of hype for it near release, but it mostly seems to have died out.

Some people like it a lot, most think it's not that well made and is lacking mechanics and, especially, some of the mechanics are not explained with enough clarity. I'd recommend watching a couple of gameplay videos, maybe even parts of a Let's Play, and decide for yourself whether you think it's worth it.
