can someone please explain what sort of games "amanita design" makes? i've always been confused as to what its category is. the video reviews don't say either so i've always avoided these. are these point and click games? the videos on the games seem to play out like a movie because there's no mouse cursor. how do you play these? thanks in advance.
Sigh, after no midweek sale and a blue teasing ''exciting new things'', I was perhaps hoping for more than a sale stuffed with Double Fine games and HOGs.

BreOl72: Ok, GOG we have to talk.
This is now the second sale in a row, where the games that I own are not separated/greyed out from the games I don't own...
Not cool.
I have the same problem and it really sucks when you already own a lot of games.

The Amanita games I own (and have played) are Machinarium and Botanicula. They are traditional point 'n click adventure games. Short games in general, but very good and fun. The only downside is that they were created in Flash, so for example when I played them on my 9-year-old laptop (which is still decent enough for old games) I encountered some delays / hiccups / fan noise. This is of course a personal experience so your experience might be problem-free. Nevertheless, they are really fun games.

I agree.

Crisco1492: Hmm... does x360ce or a similar program work? I'm using an old (as in, I bought it before moving to Indonesia in 2008) Logitech PS-style controller, and buying an actual Xbox controller here is neither cheap nor easy. I gave up on Mirror's Edge because I couldn't get the gamepad to work.
avatar
Zoidberg: I'm talking natively.
Right, I understood that. I'm bringing up Mirror's Edge because I couldn't even get x360ce to work with it, and I'd rather not spend $10 now on something I can't play until I can find an actual Xbox controller.
avatar
BeatriceElysia: So, your'e not seeing games owned at the bottom of the list view? Not even tag in library on grid view on games on sale page?
avatar
BreOl72: This it what I see: https://ibb.co/gwBfZ2L (file's too big to attach)

Edit: no - no "in library" tag on the grid...but the "wishlisted" tag gets shown.
Maybe you simply made the mistake to use a browser that is not compatible (anymore) with the new and shiny (and broken) GOG? ;)

No, serious: what browser are you using atm?

Amanita Design games are classic point and clicks in most cases. Botanicula is more the type of "click and see what happens" and Chuchel is a puzzle game. The special thing about Amanita Design is the creativity, the artstyle and the obvious love they put in their games - also the soundtrack of their games is worth listening to and quite special. You should really try some out on their web page - they have a demo for almost every game they released.

It plays just fine on mouse and keyboard if you don't need to rebind.

Machinarium has been redone. Now runs properly without Flash.

Sorry but I don't see the point of your answer. I never said the opposite, just that you COULDN'T rebind controls.

Don't be contrary like that, just for the sake of argumenting, thank you in advance.

Considering they seemed to take it as being unplayable with mouse and keyboard. Yes there was.

Well if you don't have a qwerty keyboard it IS unplayable with it. I really don't understand your stance there.

And if he does have one it isn't? As I said if you don't need rebinding. I'm not disagreeing with you.

Hum. I'm using a qwertz keyboard and played the game just fine?

You made it sound like a gamepad was absolutely necessary here.
avatar
Zoidberg: FYI, you can't rebind your controls in that one, so prepare your gamepad if you really want to play it.
