Did you prop the furniture up against the door as well? Gotta make sure to do that too.....and also make sure they didn't teleport into the room behind ya. ;)

Hehe... maybe if it was MS Windows ;-)
Would it be possible to add a 2 day limit between creating an account and being able to post threads or at least post links? That should help with these bots I think.

Exactly. At least one verified purchase, if possible.

I've went through everything that hasn't been taken care of.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will pass it on to the appropriate team to consider ;)

I think I've mentioned it a few pages ago, but to bring it back I will just post it again,

While we appreciate spam is an issue, we believe we have enough staff to handle it, additionally I appreciate your ideas, but we prefer not to put communications behind a pay-wall, for example if someone had a general query about GOG and had not purchased the game prior, they would not have a chance to post on the forum and seek advice of users (such as yourself) and this is why we don't want to put communications behind a pay-wall.

If you suspect anything as spam, feel free to either post it here or reach out to us.

I can see your point here, having something behind a pay-wall isn't great, but I believe the staff has to pay attention to what is happening here. There have been instances when spam was out there in the open for several days. Nevertheless, know the effort of combating spam is appreciated.

I completely agree with that.

However, I would suggest to put the rep-system buttons behind said pay-wall. That would stop people with alt-armies to destroy their "enemies'" reputation (or mass downvote whole pages of some threads, when they just don't like the topic).

Stopping those bullies would do the forum culture massive good, I think.

I'm against this actually, since I can only get games by trading (other than the games very generously gifted by other forum members via giveaways) so it'd lock me out :P

I really appreciate this stance, thanks for having it. It also gives the forum a much friendlier atmosphere from the point of view of outsiders, since it looks like a friendly gaming forum rather than strictly a place to discuss GOG. Its also something steam lacks due to its huge size and the wild west structure of its forums.

Asking out of curiosity - what logistical barriers are there to buying the cheapest game (135 INR / $1.82 USD) in your country? Seems like a relatively low economic and technological barrier for a 16+ yo to overcome given how prolific online transactions in this age.

Thanks for sharing. What do you think of segmenting the forums into a free subforum for users who need support with account registration and first payments and verified users (with at least one game bought) instead? And once users are verified, they can get authorization to the paid subforums instead.

One idea: They might not be able to use GOG's payment options/processors, for some reason.

I am guessing that making a new subforum isn't too difficult, but making it so that one is only allowed access to the one forum until they buy a game might be more than this forum's code(seemingly held together by duct tape and string and prayers for the most part) can handle.
