I noticed this a few times already.

Sometimes, when you comment in a thread, that thread doesn't get set at the beginning of the forum (like it shoud be), but stays down the list (most often at the "spot in time", when the last comment before yours was made).

In my screenshot, I made a comment in a thread, but that thread stayed down at the "3 hours" mark (= the time, when the last comment before mine was made).

Why is that?
I know, it's nothing earth-shaking, but I find it irritating.

Hmmm, perhaps... but was it a Freudian time-slip? :P

The fact that the forums are janky shouldn't surprise anyone by now.

Not really surprised anymore, that's true.
But the point remains: of four or five comments that I have made in as many threads, only that one thread stayed at its position down the timeline.
The others got correctly "updated".

I've seen it happen more often than not when the GOG forum is having a bad day. Perhaps the sever is a bit down at times and needs a breather.
that's just gOg's forum working exactly as intended
It is actually a warning from the forum software itself that you spend too much time here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, so it's a feature, not a bug...got it.

;)
Something to do with servers, see what BenKii said in number 7#:

"""
If you need to change your request, please wait until at least 10 minutes after you made your original request and post a new message. If you post before 10 minutes have passed, the forum will automatically merge the two posts, which will result in an edited post.

Has nothing to do with this issue.

I mean if that what I posted is true, then there are obviously some server and database script updates concerning posts running in a regular timeframes.

Yeah, I experienced the same a few time before. I'd guess that the forum database sometimes misses/ drops some update triggers during periods of high load. After all, it's teh spring sale.
It happened to me once. I guess that GOG's A.I. engine marked my post as insignificant... ;)
Another thing I noticed: GOG is terrible with page transitions. Not those silly "20 posts a page" ones, but the actual internal ones at 50 post.

If you and several other people are posting at 49-51, there's a good chance that several posts will vanish until an additional post is made.

Yep, it may well be a timing issue.

I guess you are talking about that post you make which should appear as the first on the next page, but has mysteriously disappeared. That's happened to me many times ... and refresh never helps..

You sometimes even see the link for the next page, but when you click on it, your post doesn't show ... it's off hiding in limbo somewhere.

Yes, but with the added benefit of then suddenly appearing with the next page.
