All-new gameplay footage with developer commentary + Q&A session on Twitch.tv/GOGcom!

This coming Monday, GOG.com and CD PROJEKT RED invite you to a special live streamed event at the GOG.com Twitch channel!

We'll be showcasing 15 minutes of completely fresh The Witcher: Wild Hunt gameplay highlights, while Damien Monnier - Senior Gameplay Designer, and Miles Tost - Level Designer, will be coming in live from the studio to provide developer commentary for the new footage. They'll be offering their insight, and an exclusive peek at the development process behind closed curtains at CD PROJEKT RED.

Once the gameplay commentary is finished, we will hold a live Q&A session on the air. Damien Monnier and Miles Tost will take the time to respond to live comments coming in via Twitch chat, as well as to select questions from the GOG.com community forums! It's a rare opportunity to ask about all the saucy details of The Witcher: Wild Hunt development.

If you have any questions for the folks at CD PROJEKT RED, you can submit them right here in this thread. You have until Sunday, Jan 25 at 7:00 PM GMT to submit your questions, when we'll be selecting the most interesting ones to throw at the devs during the live chat.

The live stream will begin on Monday Jan 26 7:00 PM GMT / 2:00 PM EST / 11:00 AM PST (you will find a countdown clock below) at Twitch.tv/GOGcom. Follow our channel for an e-mail alert when we go live. We'll see you there!

I have read that experience points will be awarded only for completing quests, but not for killing common monsters: would you care to elaborate upon this, please? I assume that, if what I read is true, the ultimate level the player can attain will be limited by the number of quests/side-quests he or she is able to find and complete?

On a more technical, but duller, note, what sort of configuration options will there be for customising graphics and control-mapping?

Cheers.

Can we hunt monsters in The Sea ??
Hello!!
I wonder if the witcher 3 will have secret areas, as well as weapons, equipment, objects ... and MONSTERS !! Moreover, that time can have if you want to complete the game 100% doing all missions and getting all collectibles?? thx!!
How is the release of DirectX 12 going to affect the development of the game? if at all.

This is a Lore/Story question:

I'll be finished with the Witcher book series by the time W3 releases. You've said that the game will be primarily stand-alone and self-explanatory when it comes to lore, building off of the previous games, but can fans of the books and short stories expect some easter eggs? Maybe more familiar faces besides Ciri, Yennefer, Dijkstra, and Emhyr?

Thanks!
Hopefully this will be addressed in the live stream but, in case it isn't, I'm hoping you can explain how combat differs from The Witcher 2? I felt it had a huge learning curve, so I'm wondering if it's as complex or more streamlined for this sequel (I haven't found any media thus far that differentiated it). Thanks. Regardless, this is easily my most anticipated title of this generation. I can't wait.
Hello!
Will there be the possibility to turn on some kind of option that makes the fights, especially against humans less brutal?
It would be great!
Locations question:
Will we really could go to Kaer Morhen, go inside and such? On the Witcher's world map Kaer Morhen is really far up north and the game map size is so small compare to original map and near the sea.
First thing I noticed in the new bits of gameplay footage that were released earlier yesterday was that the UI elements in general are too big and that it gets way too busy and cluttered with prompts at times.

So my question or rather questions are:

Is the UI and its parts like the minimap or Geralt's health bar scalable in size?

Can you hide parts of the UI like the minimap, Geralt's health bar, the horse's stamina bar, the enemies health bar or the combat log?

Are the huge lettered prompts telling you how much XP you got for killing an enemy scalable in size or can you hide them altogether as well?

I would appreciate it too if you could play the demo during the Twitch stream on the PC and with mouse+keyboard, thanks.

"Disgustingly, Epic have taken a large Nvidia pay-off to make Gameworks the EXCLUSIVE 'enhancement' library of Unreal 4 (the current most successful licensed engine), and the team behind Witcher 3 (the most anticipated open-world fantasy game ever) have agreed to ruin the performance of that game on AMD GPUs (when it is released early next year) in order to gain Nvidia funding."

I really want to know the truth about this.
Q1- Will there be any cheat codes for this game?
Q2-Can armours be upgraded? if yes, then will they different after they have been upgraded, like physical difference cane seen?
Q3-For example if we kill a griffin then can we kill one again, like are there more of them in the game after one is dead?
Q4- What sort of leisure activities are there to enjoy in the game for geralt?
Q5-Is there proper sort of in game romance (not including cutscenes)?
Are all the UI elements complete and finalized? I assumed that the current health bar was a placeholder, it looks a bit out of style with the rest of the game. Seems as if it's too large and has a strange low res gradient to it. Although that may just be YouTube compression, it's hard to tell.

Another than that, I'm just nitpicking. Can't wait for Monday :D

Oh yes, and will be still be better two separate UI's, one for controller and one for keyboard/mouse, or is it one UI all round?

EDIT: Actually I have another question. With DX12 so close around with corner (and with it's supposed performance enhancements), is that something you guys are keeping an eye on for an update sometime in the future?

a) What is the chance we can have demo or at least tech-demo?

b) Will there be OpenGL support on PC at release?

Thank you!
I'm glad I have a day off on Monday... Looking forward to the presentation. As long as there won't be so many QTE like in Witcher 2, I'll be loving Witcher 3 very very much!
