Why on earth are they doing this and why only for part 2 of Atlantis? They really have no policy I understand here. One time they bundle every language and another time they extract the seperate installers again. I really don't understand. I have no big problem with neither of them (as long as I can chose which version I want to install) but they just should decide once and for all what they want. But then again ... they still haven't fixed the sort problem so what was I expecting?

I don't believe this is intentional. I think it's a bug. It's not the first time that they do some change to the Mac installers and it triggers a bug in the Windows installers.

No idea there, I know some LucasArts games required some acceptance of an eula so a gui setup was required, no specific reason for the others.

I think the reason is because tarballs are easily extractable regardless of distro and bundling some of the large games twice would take up a lot of space on the server. Some people may see this as lazyness but in truth it's more like GOG caring about non Debian based Linux users.

Personally I find tarballs much more convenient since it's as simple as extracting them and hitting the start.sh file, and it also makes the games portable. But this is just my opinion anyways.

Plus, `start.sh --install-deb` and `start.sh --uninstall` give you desktop integration equivalent to the .deb but not tied to a pre-defined install location or specific distro. (Those undocumented options are what the .deb calls and they generate or remove .desktop files and /usr/local/bin symlinks.)

A big thankyou to you, mrkgnao, for keeping up this thread, it must be a lot of work. Lots of +1's. :-D

Terraria seems to be on a roll when it comes to updating; sadly Galaxy is temperamental about downloading copies of the updates (using GOG downloader). I often get a failed warning, have to try several times - but that's for another thread..

Why would the file size be decreasing? Please forgive me if this has been asked and answered before.

Thank you for the kind words.

The details of the change are here: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_update_thread/post9750

It is not unheard of that a new version which is mostly a bug fix would have a slightly smaller size than the previous version. The intricacies of compiling code and compressing images and music are far from simple. That's the beauty of programming, where you can often make a program do more with less. Like they say: sometimes you get the gogbear; sometimes the gogbear gets you.
