Likewise with La-Mulana. Now that I don't have to work around Wine bugs to play the Windows version, the only thing my GOG copy is good for is the soundtrack (which is missing from the Humble Bundle).

Good to know another is on the way. I just now finally finished Freedom Planet, and I don't need Sanctuary tempting me, with so many other games in the queue. Every patch is a decision made on my behalf to forebear a bit longer.

As mentioned here, Rogue Squadron's price has been increased to $9.99 (formerly $5.99) and Empire at War's to $19.99 (formerly $14.99).

As the GOG reviews say, the puzzles can be punishingly cryptic at times, but it's a very rewarding game and one of the largest metroidvanias out there.

It's sort of in the same bucket as Cave Story+ in that both Cave Story and La-Mulana began as Japanese freeware labours of love (La-Mulana is to MSX games like Maze of Galious as Cave Story is to NES action platformers) and then got non-freeware enhanced remakes which brought them up to "SNES or better" standards for graphics and sound.)

Given that it's in the beat-the-average tier of a fairly strong Humble Indie Bundle, I'd say everyone should try it now.

Edit: There's also a direct sequel that got kickstarted last year but, sadly, it didn't meet the stretch goal for a guaranteed Linux port.

(Speaking of which, the kickstarter description page has three pairs of original-remake comparison thumbnails if anyone's curious)
