So my old Fallout 1 & 2 Classic updated, what changed in the classic versions?
avatar
Thiev: No. Ripped tracks had to be removed and replaced with disk images for DOSbox audio playback due to legal reasons.
Seriously? Licenses are strange...

You have the choice of launching normal or high res Fallout.

So it basically already has the widescreen mod installed, interesting. Would having that already installed pose a problem installing other patches and mods?

I don't think it would.

Good, I was wondering because I remember the Infinity Engine games were kind of picky of mod install order and I thought that might be the same with Fallout.
One question, mac version of fallout got the new update too? or it's the old version

Wouldn't help much in that respect, since the new release doesn't have a mac version at all.

i know but fallout is a wineskin port (not a native port), so gog or Bethesda can make a new official wineskin version (I can also make it but that means no official support).
also if they merge the two release new costumers can have the old mac version (better than nothing).

As explained here, they cannot at the moment (nor is it guaranteed they will ever be able to) release the mac version as part of the new version. Think of the old release as the deluxe edition, and the current one as the regular edition. At the moment they are only allowed to sell the regular edition.

Yes, I read that.
In fact I only said that I hope that in the future they will be able to join the two releases.
I also asked (because before I did not know) if the mac version was updated too.
In any case, since they have updated the Windows version (also in fallout classics) make a wineskin port should not be a problem.
