Oh, had missed one in between. But still, same number for logged on, that seems pretty clear, and increasing by 1 per day (but the date just went back and forth, Jan 20, Jan 19, Jan 20 again) when not.

It's not just the change in date, the last visible thread also changes, as does the total number of additional threads visible when logged in and having favourite threads vs to not having any/ being logged out. Here's the current status:

- Not logged in: 820 pages, last visible thread from Jan 20, 2015 (not the same as earlier today).
- Logged in: 246 pages, last visible thread from Jan 19, 2015 (also not the same as earlier today, in fact that one has now fallen off my last page).

The total number of my favourite threads has not changed, yet that of additional threads I see when logged in dropped to half of what it was earlier today.

Is there a pattern? If there is, it must be drunk. Or stoned.

Since there's a limit of the number somewhere, it's normal for the last visible thread to change as new ones are added, not even looking at that. Question is, does the number of threads on the last page vary (without changing the number of favorite ones, I mean)? Because it's only weird(er) if it does.

It doesn't, AFAIK. It's just the number of threads per page you have configured (15, 30 to 50).

Nothing unusual then. Hard limit when logged in, oddly increasing one, apparently by a page per day, when not.

I'm not sure. I've made a note that I have 45 visible threads on my last page (246) right now, will check if it changes tomorrow.

I have the usual 50, all 3 times I checked. Granted, all 3 being this evening.

So, initial report of 245 at 50/page, so 12250, 407 at 30 and 814 at 15, both meaning 12210.

Second report has 815 pages at 15, so 12225.

Third, 246 at 50, so 12300, and 817 at 15, so 12255.

Fourth, 409 at 30, so 12270.

Fifth, still 246 at 50, so 12300, but 818 at 15, so 12270.

Sixth, still 246 at 50, so 12300, but 819 at 15, so 12285.

Seventh, still 246 at 50, so 12300, but 820 at 15, so also 12300.

First says the number must be over 12200. Second, over 1210. Third, over 1250. Fifth, over 1255. Sixth, over 1270. Seventh, over 1285.

Some slow indexing?

Could be, but does the total number of threads have to be a round number that is dividable by 15, 30 or 50?
If n is the total number of pages and m the total number of active threads, I'd expect to have m-(n-1)x50 on the last page.
And that's not counting the additional 5 Sticky ones on the first page.

Why I'm saying "over ...". Seems to get to a number and then display the page that's on as last, with topics after it to fill said page, so there may be more or fewer additional ones depending on the number of posts per page. Also, stickies don't count towards it it seems.
