muntdefems: Really? Hahahahaha, that's a good one! Yep, going back to compressed tarballs would be good news indeed.

ssokolow: So far, I've only heard of one game where some kind of post-unpack script had to be run for the Linux version (yay, lack of a Registry), it was contained within the game folder (I think it was in the "support" folder next to "icon.png" and "gog.com.shlib"), and I remember it being expensive enough that it probably still hasn't come on sale cheaply enough for me to consider buying it.
Might you remember the name of that game? Only one that I know that does that is Witcher 2.

Now that you mention it, I think it was The Witcher 2 I was thinking of. I probably got it jumbled up with my memories relating to The Witcher 3.

(When you own 1338 games on GOG alone, even a trivia fiend's brain makes the odd mistake from time to time.)

Thanks for reminding me that I DO own a game I can use as test fodder to implement support for that in my unattended unpack helper.
Looks like the macOS and Linux versions of Brigador: Up-Armored Edition have been finally added. Anyone owning the game care to share the changelog (if there's one)?

Not owning the game but Adalia Fundamentals is your friend. it adds a changelog link to the game page if there is one ;)
I just posted the changelog in the game forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/brigador_uparmored_edition/changelog/post2

Thanks! Both for the changelog and for the AF tip. Been using AF and BE for a while, but I'm still not fully aware of all their features... :P

You're welcome. I'm glad that the devs finally delivered. Took them long enough (but they posted an explanation in the game forum). Yes both AF and BE are really necessary on GOG but some of their features are easy to miss :)

Looks like Observer will not be coming out for Linux, with Aspyr giving a "no-explanation" explanation.

The game is now released and at Steam for download with almost 8 GB ready. Unfortunately the game needs a steam connection when entering the menu. As Aspyr told us on demand, the Linux version will not be available at GOG, although the game is available there for Windows and OS X.
Erhm... what?

Nice! What next?

"Unfortunately the game needs a steam connection for sound volume adjustment."?
"Unfortunately the game needs a steam connection for in-game manual."?
"Unfortunately the game needs a steam connection for input."?
"Unfortunately the game needs a steam connection for icon loading."?

I really like Aspyr already (despite not owning a single game of their "porting"). ;D
