Prah: Imagine if they would exist in limited quantities and not in the amount as they exist in your example? For works that are either too dangerous for humans or other reasons why humans cannot do the task (Medical care. Espionage. Communication, Sexbots etc.)

Also androids are supposed to be humanoids so that's why they look human ;)

Elmofongo: What if the andrioid malfunctioned before or during a surgery.

Espionage, I am certain the state an android is infiltrating will find ways to tell whether who is a person and who is a android sent by an enemy nation. And besides people are even more unpredictable than androids anyway.
Human surgeons can malfunction as well (Faints or has an illness himself.) And
Human spies can get caught and be tortured.

Androids can withstand both of those! And if we had them during surgery, we would have figured out the kinks by then!

Sachys: Considering most of the socially popular technologies in the last 20 years have become popular because of the sex industry... this wont be any different.

Consider it - nobody used the interent really, until porn became available on it. Mobile phones were primarily for business men and drug dealers, until MMS came around and people started getting porn and maing and sending porn on them.
Same with the printed word - one of the early popular prints was an erotic cartoon series.

VR will also be the same. Nobody will be buy the new headsets until a porntrepreneur makes an interactive porno with it.
Mabye but still with an android you are physically interacting with it. And believe there will be a bunch of philisophical crap being created surrounding the idea of synthetic romance/sex/relationships. Fucking in android is just not the same no matter how human you make it look. In the end you are humping a glorifyed daikimakura pillow:

On the espionage part. You can just reprogram an android to spill the beans.

As for medical surgury. Well if a malfuctioning robot and a weak willed human is both the same problem than still it equals to the samething. So why add a robot with the same malfunctioning flaws as a fainting person?

Sounds about right.

I can certainly get behind your theory of Cameron being some kind android, and Clegg and Miliband too. It would certainly explain a lot.

Lol. Yep, I can see that too XD

Shame we have no other choices of political party (I would vote for someone like the Greens, but they have never get any seats and tend to be a bunch of loonies anyway, these two points may be related)
The battle for Net Neutrality reaches its focal point as shareholders approve the merger of Comcast and Time Warner Cables:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.862539-Comcast-TWC-Shareholders-Approve-Merger-Our-Destruction

Though of course it has not happened yet and there are senetors and other politicians against the merger.

A quick question is this only a USA thing? My internet service is called Tropinet (Tropi-net) by Schaffer and Brown and I get my internet through Microwave transmission. Its not Comcast or Time Warner? Is this Net Neutraility problem only for USA?

(Note I am not referring to your post)

I am the only who misses Metroid its almost 5 years since the last (Other M)

You think with Nintendo's current stance at rekindling with their dedicated long time fans they would do this heck their recent games appealed to their nostalgia:

Super Mario 3D Land pulled the heartstrings of Fans of Super Mario Bros. 3 (Tonooki Suit and all) and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds was the sequal A Link to the Past fans never knew they wanted. You think they continue this trend and make a new Side Scrolling Metroid for the 3DS in the vein of Super Metroid. What gives?

Honestly I am just hoping next E3 they reveal a surprise Metroid Prime 4 for Wii-U. (And its possible since the 3rd game ended with a cliff hanger)

Elmofongo: Androids, the kind you see in Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, and the Matrix (Perticularly The Anmatrix which shows the how the whole story began) Am I the only one who thinks that in reality androids serve no purpose in reality?

Really in reality what is the point of creating Synthetic Andriods that look human, especially making them look human.

In the Animatrix there was this grusome sequence with an Android female being abused and killed by people during a riot. This Android looked so real until they ripped off its synthetic "skin" showing the Robot inside (its skin even has nipples on its breast?) But my question is why do they make them so human? I don't see the use of human looking androids beeing applied today. Also the idea of having robots do everything. In this day and age where people complain about lack of jobs and opportunities why would we want androids to do are jobs for us?

Despite the reasoning in sci fi like Blad Runner, Ghost in the Shell, Alien, etc. I just don't see the point of Androids in reality?
TL';DR version:People are obsessed with the concept of creating life, and a human-like android that can be whatever they want is alluring to many. Conversely, a lot of people use androids, like in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (Philip K. Dick's amazing novel that Blade Runner was based on and if you haven't read that yet then wtf are you doing still reading this, go find that book!) to explore what it means to be human.
