Mafwek: Aren't cough and 38.3 degrees body temperature only symptoms of Corona? Speaking about your list.
Here's the WHO symptom list:

"The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don't feel unwell. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment. Around 1 out of every 6 people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. People with fever, cough and difficulty breathing should seek medical attention."

https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses

Now, with that said, what symptoms clue the regular person in to the fact that they indeed have COVID-19? Well, the sad fact is (excerpt and link below):

"The symptoms are common ones when it comes to respiratory diseases. In addition to COVID-19, they can suggest a far more typical illness such as influenza or the common cold. Some of those who contract the virus may never display any symptoms, and may pass it on to others without realizing they ever had it.

This makes it virtually impossible for the average person to determine whether their symptoms are being caused by the new coronavirus or something else."

https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/how-do-i-know-if-i-have-covid-19-a-guide-to-symptoms-1.4834784

Most of the symptoms of COVID-19 are shared with the flu -- only differing sometimes in duration and severity (cough and temperature included).

Here are the symptoms of INFLUENZA:

https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/adult-flu-symptoms#1

Fever above 100 F
Severe aches in your muscles and joints
Weakness or severe fatigue
Warm, flushed skin and red, watery eyes
Chills
A headache
A dry cough
A sore throat and runny nose

Adults with seasonal flu don’t usually have stomach problems like vomiting or diarrhea, but children sometimes do.

Get medical help right away if you have:

Trouble breathing or shortness of breath
Pain or pressure in your chest or belly
Sudden dizziness
Confusion
Severe vomiting

These symptoms can mean your illness is severe

IMO most people won't be able to distinguish a true difference in symptoms between COVID-19 and the yearly flu, but I have noticed anecdotally that many this year have complained about a "strange" flu that was more severe than usual took much longer to clear. This could mean a particularly bad flu season or possibly COVID-19 -- although we wouldn't know definitively without antibody testing.

morolf: Meh, kind of pointless, this thread will eventually get locked as well. Honestly, with that kind of low-effort "moderation" Gog should just close down the entire forum. I'm out of here, bye! And stay safe everyone and don't let yourselves or your loved ones get killed by the virus!
I'll follow your example for the same reason, the minimum amount of effort to be expected would be to pick voluntary free moderators from the community.

Be safe and so on everyone, take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Thank you...the same to you as well.
For those still doubting the self-isolation as a means to stop the disease spread as soon as possible: São Paulo, the first Brazil state that, on its own and as soon as possible, adopted a 'lockdown'.... right now we are already seen a turn downwards for the rate of the spreading curve. I'll post the pic as soon as I find it.

EDIT: The red lines consider only infection from São Paulo state. Notice how the curve is already showing signs of turning down. The rest of the curves consider Brazil as a whole.

If accurate(i.e. most infected have been found/tested/isolated) that is a welcome sign.
How is everyone doing? Do you have any links to good news about this shit hole that we are in right now? Been bombarded with negative news for weeks.

Well, it's as accurate as it can get, but the data was collected, compiled and the plot made by physicists at the University of São Paulo, the most prestigious in South America. But we'll only know for sure for another weeks.
I suspect I may have had something. Felt mild tightness of chest for 2 days 2 weeks ago, and also experienced anosmia and loss of taste last week. The only way I'm certain I had something was my girlfriend had tightness of chest, occasional shortness of breath, fatigue, slight fever for one day, chills for many, nasal congestion and still has dry cough two weeks later.

These were all mild. I'd think it was pollen allergies for me, but both of our symptoms started a day apart, so we got something from somewhere.

In any case, cue rant/

We're supposed to protect the people most vulnerable to this, i.e. elders, people with pre-existing conditions and people with weak immune systems. The whole country is in a lockdown, and still some people think they're on vacation, visiting friends and having a "good" time. Because of this, it was just announced that they'll be taking stricter measures, so now we can only go outside once per day, and before 21:00. So, besically, I can't walk my dogs AND go to the supermarket (after I've already spent 2 weeks self-quarantined just in case I had it) on the same day, just because some geniuses disregarded a simple order that's for the greater good.

I'm doing ok and my family is as well...thanks for asking, btw.

If you mean good news from where you're from, though, I sadly don't know of any atm...I did post some good news from my home state and on the US earlier(along with some upbeat-good music and such to lift people's spirits a bit) in the OP post, though.

Yup....now we wait and hope all this effort by all the people of the world pays off(I am somewhat optimistic and think it will :)).
Not just good news from my country but around the world. This is everyone's problem. IMO, any good news from the war against this pandemic is a good sign. Seriously, I'm very worried about the health workers and the personnel in the front lines. Especially that one of my long time friends just got it. He is a nurse in the UK and I'm just friggin worried. He was supposed to come home this April.

GameRager: Fair enough(and thank you for being fair on this matter/new thread).....question though: Can't someone bump this up to someone(even above lower level site mods) that can make a call to maybe give an exception in this case(like with the gaming politics exception.....i.e. as long as what is discussed is about the covid situation)?

I am worried a bit as well, though I try to keep my hopes up. Also that bit about your friend being sick sucks to hear.....I hope they get better and get proper care if they need it.

That said, I hope my fellow humans will continue to "step up to the plate"(so to speak) and continue showing solidarity(in various ways) with their fellow man(and woman).

Eh, I figures you had some sort of "super secret" connection to the higher level execs or some such. Was worth a try at any rate. :)

I will try that suggestion.....but if it's just routed to the same mods who locked the other thread and didn't even bother replying to my questions about the prior thread, I am not holding out as much hope(though I will still give it a try, of course, to see what can be done).

GameRager: Aren't most viruses like that....i.e. they keep their host alive so they can spread and not run out of hosts/etc?

If so, and we are adapting to it, then hopefully this will end in a more positive light than some more dire predictions. :)
Pathogens are intelligent in their own way, but they have no way of knowing or caring that they are destroying their host.

True, but it is still beneficial to them to keep the host alive & most thankfully don't kill off most of their hosts.....so there's that, at least.
