The city where adventuring never stops.

Did you hear? Neverwinter Nights Diamond is FREE for the next 48 hours! It's the game that first introduced Bioware's powerful Aurora Engine and is still considered one of the most rich and well-realized RPGs set in the Forgotten Realms. The Diamond edition already includes the original campaign plus three official expansions released by Bioware, offering hours upon hours of old-school gameplay for D&D fans.

What you may not have heard, is that thanks to the versatility of the Aurora Engine and the game's devoted community, there are tons of cool fan-made mods out there that you can download and enjoy for free. Some take you to entirely different areas, some offer thrilling new adventures, some tweak the game's feel or gameplay, but they all serve to add incredible value to the game and help you customize or prolong your stay in Neverwinter Nights.

Here are some of our favorites:

1. The Aielund Saga
A truly epic adventure full of twists and turns set in the troubled Kingdom of Aielund that is under attack both from outside and inside forces.
Our own member Lilura has a very neat guide on how to get this mod up and running.

2. Elegia Eternum
Narrative-focused mod with a rather somber, occasionally twisted story and esoteric ambiance. A bit on the short side but with a lasting effect, due to the intense drama.
You can grab it from here.

3. The Rose of Eternity
Another story-heavy module that tells the heart-wrenching story of a timeless being, held prisoner in a mystical garden. The first two chapters are available over here with the creator moving on to the Dragon Age engine for the story's conclusion.

4. The Bastard of Kosigan
A gritty adventure set in an alternate history medieval Europe, starring a young man who exiles himself from Kosigan to avoid his villainous uncle.
Lilura once again has posted some pretty useful instructions on how to use this mod.

But these are just a handful of top shelf mods for Neverwinter Nights Diamond in a sea of great content that's just begging to be explored. And who better to help you navigate it than our awesome GOG.com community?
So those among you who have already played and enjoyed some of the high-quality mods out there, go ahead and share your best finds with us!

Neverwinter Nights Diamond is free until December 3, 10:59 AM UTC.

The Prophet series by Baldecaran
In my opinion the most complex and exciting story-telling campaign for NWN, gripping like a page turner. At the time when I've played it (quite a while ago now), I thought it was the best RPG story besides PS: Torment. Check "Related Projects" for links to Chapters 1-3.

The Auren Society of Weavers series by Fester Pot
Consisting of , [url=https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/module/shadewood]Shadewood and Fate of the Auren (last I heard it was still in development, but I'm not up-to-date). Very dark and atmospheric, and heavily modded with custom graphics, music and its own gameplay systems.

Excrucio Eternum (EE2) by Stefan Gagne
The sequel to Elegia Eternum (EE1) is longer, less linear and much more original and fun to play than its predecessor. IIRC you don't really need to play EE1 in order to enjoy this one. Takes place in an asylum and you can enter the minds of the patients.

Vampire: Heaven Defied by Chojin
Short and open-ended, but pretty cool VTM-style adventure for NWN.

Threat of Dreams series by GhostFactory
This one's an insider's tip. Unfinished, but the available TOD1: The Hunger and the Sickness and The Hour of the Tongue are well worth playing if you like games with atmosphere and somewhat darker settings different than your average high fantasy RPG.

Oh, and if you're just looking for a really short but well-made, self-contained adventure, try The Sunken Shrine of Ahmenkatja. I think it can be completed in less than an hour.

Nothing is quite like an adventure with some friends. Even a dull mod can be made fun with a friend!

Check out http://www.nwnlist.com for server lists of NWN 1 and 2

Great thread; i'm taking notes, keep 'em coming! :)
Saleron's Gambit series by Tiberius209
5 chapters of neatly written, low-XP / low-magic adventure. A bit linear on the sides but with great old-school vibe :)

Honor Among Thieves by Baldecaran
^ and this one, definitely this. Comes from author of the Prophet series, has multiple paths to follow and is a must-play for anyone looking for a proper Rogue-themed mod.

My favourite module is A Dance With Rogues.
Great story and characters. Part 1 is more open, while Part 2 is more linear, but still very enjoyable. Multiple endings, with lots of quests.
You must play as a female rogue and you barely get exp from fighting, instead most exp come from sneaking, unlocking things, disarming traps and picking pockets.
Please not that this is an adult module. The athmosphere is quite dark, and there are qute a lot of adult themes (sex, gore, violence, torture) etc. in it, so only play it if such things don't bother you.

Try writing a support ticket. Or just give the free copy to a friend and play co-op. Don't feel bad about paying for it, it's worth it.

A small tool that allows users to change their generic CD keys to proper ones, without editing .INI file manually.
..yes, there are users that would prefer not to edit such files manually ;)

There is a slight delay with adding NWN to accounts. It will appear in your library soon (in worst case - by the end of day)
