Random_Coffee: Well, they have patched out Denuvo now.. Let's hope they decide to release it on GOG.
Oh it's still there. They removed Denuvo with a patch and then sent out another patch that added it back to the game. It's a new version of Denuvo and lots of people are complaining about problems such as micro stutter and massive lag.
The developers have done WHAT??? *shocked*

They've wasted MORE money on another DRM that will likely get cracked in a few days?

But why?

Why didn't they spend that money on fixing the problems people have been reporting?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has spent the last 10 years wanting this game, and looking forward to continuing Kate's journey.
And the way the developers are treating us fans is so far BEYOND disappointing. ) ;

Developers:
- Fix the bugs
- Add in mouse & keyboard controls
- Get rid of that disgusting Denuvo garbage
To be frank, I see why developers are opting for Denuvo. It's a tough copy protection system. Hitman got cracked more than half a year after the final episode came out, and I believe Dishonored 2 hasn't been cracked yet. Six months is a lot in terms of profit. There are gamers which, if they are able to choose between a paid copy and a free cracked version, will pirate the game. Without the crack, they will be swayed to buy the full game because they want to play it anyway, for free or not.

There are gamers who, given the choice of a paid copy WITH Denuvo, and a paid copy WITHOUT Denuvo, will pick the one WITHOUT Denuvo every time.

Denuvo is actually preventing sales.
It just got better. The new version of Denuvo has already been cracked.......

I have never seen a company treat it's core fanbase with such contempt as Microids is doing. For that reason alone, they will not get a dime of my money.

The game does have mouse and keyboard controls, problem is they work horribly.

No, it wasn't. There was a release of the 1.2 patch, but using the unprotected dll.

It didn't even work. The new patch is already on the bay..
And the publisher is still burning money on that horse poop of a DRM,while people here on GOG are still waiting to buy the game(GOG customers are the most dangerous pirates of them all xD).... Very sad situation.Let's not even speak about the fact that this game isn't even worth putting Denuvo on.I guess solving bugs and correcting bad controls is a thing of the past ;).Cheers

What amazes me is why the hell Microids decided to optimize this particular game for the console market and screw over the PC users as far as controls go .given the previous two games are PC games, and that the game makes no sense unless you have played the first two games.
One of the biggest WTF's I have seen in a while.

Now they removed denuvo... again.... after patching it in after it was patched out.
I wonder if it comes back with the next patch.

What are those guys smoking?

In soviet Russia they would be sent to Siberia for this mess ;).Cheers
apparently the new denuvo has already been cracked;they probably removed it to put in yet another version of Denuvo
that will no doubt be cracked within a day or so. Idiotic.
I have never seen a company flush it's customers "good will" down the toilet the way that Microids has.

Why are they wasting money on this Denuvo rubbish anyway?
Releasing it DRM-free, and fixing the bugs, would attract a lot more sales!

FrodoBaggins: Why are they wasting money on this Denuvo rubbish anyway?
I was asking that very same question to myself "why a corporation buys something expensive and unreliable whcih isn't work properly". Well, I saw big celebration parties, smiling faces of top managers, expensive gifts, overseas travels for very important business discussions. And I asked myself again "What the hell are they doing, they're spending corporate money on sh!t and keep smiling, they even administered themselves big salary bonuses and cut ours due to increased expenses".
Well I don't know for sure, but I think many corporations are corrupted, they are interested mostly in reputation and turnovers and deferred revenue, and most top managers interested in finding any good way to withdraw corporate money and put it in their own pockets through a series of chain deals and illegal cuts.

But it's only my opinion, I even was "forced" to sign some big document where I can't comment anything about 2 big corporate banks for my entire life. That's constituion for minor people.

We all live in a wolrd of pre-cyberpunk.

P.S. I was kidding, it's even worse

Having also worked for a big corporation before I can attest that this kid of corporate behaviour is absolutely true.

Sad and true story: whenever I tell anyone about the horrible things I saw concerning this kind of corrupt job morals, most people just shrug or pretend nothing's happening.
Sad :(
