My apologies for my initial reply and thank you for notifying me.
Probably still too early to call this one but;

Klei and Don't Starve Together

would they be waiting for Galaxy?

time will tell.

When pressed for information in regards to fate of Don't Starve outside of Steam, Klei's official statement has been a resounding;

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Will keep an eye on this then, I don't need it but I hope it's a not a sign that Klei are abandoning GOG or don't care about supporting their games here. I have DS & MOTN, but I can't see me buying Invisible, Inc. if the long term support is non existent at GOG (I won't get it on Steam either)
Yeah, if they don't even bother to release Invisible Inc. on GOG then you can pretty much consider that the nail in the coffin for that partnership past, present and future.

Still waiting for the two Shank games...

I believe those were published by EA, might be a factor.

Don't Starve Together is still in Early Access. If it does come to GOG it probably won't before release.

They are self-published on Steam. Plus, Mark of the Ninja was originally published by Microsoft, yet it has been here for a while.

naturally.

my biggest concern however, is how dependent they are on Steam for netcode

one of the strongest responses I've gotten from them on the subject was an allusion to it requiring a considerable amount of effort to separate Don't Starve Together from Steam.

Their cagey, non-committal tone whenever this subject is brought up certainly inclines me to believe they don't think it's worth the effort and simply want to quell any dissent or bad PR with ambiguity and non-answers.

That would be a major shame. Them bringing it here will decide if I buy it. Not rebuying the game on a different platform even if it's for multiplayer. :(

Klei have certainly earned their success as a business but, whether or not they earn my respect for being upstanding human beings, time will only tell.
