I love gog as a platform and DRM-Free games. But I think this policy is also easy to circumvent by bad people. A person can buy the entire gog catalog and request a refund on paypal or credit card, and can still play... :/
To limit this, the gog team should limit refund on paypal and credit card, only for the first 48/72 hours and then ONLY in the gog wallet!

Isn't it, for this reason, that you cannot refund games that you already downloaded?
I had one case where support offered me a refund after technical isues. I declined, because i got it to run, but i could have abused the policy at that point. Cases like that are likely too rare though.

I also made a wish:

I don't think there's any need. I'm pretty sure where they refund to is already at their discretion. They've stated somewhere before (I forget whether it's in the refund policy or FAQ or what) that if you try to pull a bunch of refunds and something looks shady, they'll cut you short.
I'd rather them not remove what is a useful thing for honest people when they already have it somewhat covered by keeping support vigilant.
You cannot refund games you have already downloaded.
Those you can only refund if you go through a lengthy "doesn't work" - troubleshooting - "still doesn't work" - troubleshooting - lather - rinse - repeat process for each individual game.

Why would anyone bother to do that?
It's possible to download those games illegally and never even bother to create a GOG account. Or Steam. Or anything. By doing what you say those pirates would really gain nothing, except risk their money not being refunded.
I think OP mix refund (GOG gives your money back) from charge back (it's credit card / bank service)

They wouldn't be able to download all the games. And that paypal or credit card chargeback is subject to investigation. Once GOG and the thief are both interviewed, GOG will get their money unless the person is using a stolen card (more likely) and then wouldn't have bothered with a refund.

Some of us are trying though. :)

I've done a couple of refunds and they've always been to my wallet.

To be perfectly honest with folks, most if not all of the games are available on the torrent sites. Easier to get them that way instead of coming here and reversing a charge.

Uh no, first that would violate customer protection laws in majority of countries and 2nd gog does have protections in place, so there is no threat to gog in the long term.

They will only grant refunds to downloaded games in extreme circumstances, the few (repeat FEW) refunds for already downloaded games are for the GOG wallet any ways. I only have one full moneyback refund to my account and that took almost 4 weeks to make happen.

also gog removes games you refund, so you will only have a chance to download it once before the refund, and if its a popular or frequently updated game, it will be rapidly out of date.

Dont worry, GOG knows what they are doing and they have been around since 2008/2009 so they will be aorund for a while.

Bad people can just get the games from Pirate Bay.

Your idea will only hurt legit users.

The whole DRM free idea is largely trust based. If you're going to make users jump through, then you might as well just introduce DRM.
And I thought the "Get my Steam games on GOG for free" wishlist entry was the most absurd in all those thousands.

And yet GOG has gone to lengths to make it happen with Connect.
