Mi farma es su farma.

Ok yes, this is not any known language, BUT the important thing here is that Stardew Valley, the ridiculously addictive simulation/RPG, can now also be enjoyed in co-op!

However, before you jump in and start sharing parsnips, chores, and giggles with your friends, you may want to read through this detailed post about what precautions to take before entering the Beta on GOG Galaxy.

EDIT: To enter the Beta, go to the game in your GOG Galaxy library --> More --> Settings. Then toggle BETA CHANNELS to ON. Now, Channel --> Add private channel, and insert the code jumpingjunimos when prompted. Finally, pick the "beta" channel from the drop-down menu and wait for it to install.

All set? Then what are you waiting for? The carrots won't pull themselves out, you know.

I can play multiplayer on Steam, because it supports Linux. Not in GOG Galaxy. I love you guys, but Galaxy not being available for Linux is a total bummer.

Um, I'm not seeing anything for us non-Galaxy Users. No way to try the LAN option.
Is Galaxy not optional now?
The chucklefish blog post talks about the LAN option. I hope the Galaxy-only thing is just for the beta (but why?).
I hope Stardew goes onto GOG Connect soon. I bought it on that other site before I realized it was available here :"(
Ah, I seem to remember multiplayer being a planned feature from the start.

I like how the blog post has detailed instructions on how to access the multiplayer on Steam, but a zero nothing on how to do so through Galaxy. Because, I deliberately clicked on the blog post, following GOG's arguing to check out the detailed notes first, except there wasn't anything about it. :P

Hi!

Like others have asked, where is the beta for us non-galaxy linux users? I was very much looking forward to this and I was so worried in the back of my mind that this would happen.

I knew I would have only LAN play on linux, and that's all I ask for!

Please, pretty please?

Well, you are not wrong... I've updated the newspost with the steps needed to access the Beta branch on GOG Galaxy. Sorry about that.

Like others have asked, how do we access multiplayer outside of Galaxy? It defeats the object of being 'optional' if new features can't be accessed without it.

The only way that I can see this working is for them to include the BETA install package as a download option. But that of course assumes that it has the networking built-in for LAN play.

Certainly a workable solution, in my opinion. But I just checked and didn't see that listed as a download option.

To the question about if this will be available outside of Galaxy and if Galaxy should really be considered "optional" I am eager to hear from GoG about it. I have my thoughts on how they will respond, but I would like to hear it from them.

There are plenty of games on GOG where Galaxy is not optional with respect to multiplayer. Don't be shocked if this turns out to be another one, although it's possible it may turn out to become available only once out of beta for non-Galaxy users.

You can play Stardew Valley without galaxy; you just can't join beta which seems fair. Just tested and after you download files through galaxy you can start co-op game from .exe without turning on galaxy.

I... I probably agree
