Hey, thanks for the giveaway! I am in! Thanks for your generosity! I am in for SPOOKYCATS, MEOW, meowow!!

Well, let's get started!

1) I choose Snowkatt! That person is a very good, kind and considerate, rare person to have around! Always present in the most unexpected of situations and conversations, likes old console games like those on Sega Saturn, is of the old school of gaming and her contribution and participation is always well received, plus appreciated! Even helped me in a discussion about emulation, too! The most lovable feature of this account, is clearly the avatar, i LOVE that avatar! It reminds of a manga picture!

2) I selected this game, because i LOVE, LOVE CATS (and Kats, and Kates, but love affairs with Kates never ended well and i have ever since abandoned those). This game can make me happy, because i love cats and felines, both in outside world and in games! In pokemon for example, i always had a meowth/persian in my main team, at all times (using thief to steal items and the payday to steal money was awesome)! Cats and Kats, make me REALLY happy! Kates made me sad.

3) My darkest days? Those are many. Meditation, physical workout, eastern spirituality paths and one certain martial art i took up one year ago, can literally transmute my mood almost instantaneously (neidan). I feel like another man, like invulnerable and invincible. Nothing directed at me, even the sh*ttiest of sh*ts, can even have the slightest impact on me anymore, not even make me feel simple discomfort. Also, i like nature and animals, especially wild ones with the "false" reputation of being untameable, i like playing with them, feeding them, cleaning/conditioning/deparasiting them and after all this, let them go back where they came from. Wild hedgehogs really make me happy and top all other possible "visitors"! My cat is also very loving and affectionate, poor thing feels like a real buddy!

4) More happiness to this thread? Is this even possible? SO many people with happiness suggestions and so many games...

What a lovely giveaway, and a great topic~! I'll be in for the following:
(EDITED)

8BitBoy

As for the topics, here we go~!

1) Choose a GOG member and say something nice about him/her.

It's hard to choose just one, there are so many wonderful folks here~! Since I've waxed poetic about how Momo1991 changed my life, this time I'll talk about another who had a big impact on my life: Sage103082. It was all of the lovely conversations we had about her sweet Gizmo (her rescue-kitten) that made me realize that we really needed a kitten here to keep our 10-month-old cat company (aka, I went kitten crazy!) Thus, we ended up with our darling Jasmine, and these cats have been such a blessing for our family ♥ I miss talking to Sage... I shall have to hunt her down and see how she's doing~!

2) Tell me why you've selected these games, and how they can contribute to your happiness.

Munin - I really enjoy platformers, harking back to the days of my trusty old Commodore 64. I like the graphics on this one, and the way ladders are placed (etc) actually remind me of those old games I used to play. Add in the fact that it's gotten some very good reviews and the fact that it's been on my wishlist since it came out, and that's why this one is at the top of the list for this GA ^__^

A Bird Story - This game is made by the same developers who made To the Moon, a compelling adventure game (don't let the RPG-maker graphics fool you!) with a moving story and fantastic music. I'm hoping for more of the same with A Bird Story.

Schein - Again, I love platformers, and I really like the graphics on this one.

8BitBoy - Platformer! :D It reminds me of the Mario games I always loved, and they've hooked me with the "300 hidden locations" promise -- love that!

3) Tell me if something brightens up your darkest days. (song, movie, game, book, person, etc.)

Even when I'm at my most stressed, the cats can elicit a smile, a laugh... or even brighten my mood completely with their antics. These aren't "just cats". We lucked out and got two of the "special" cats -- the ones that are so sweet and so filled with personality that you really bond with them.

Going out for tea with my sister-in-law. We sit and talk about all kinds of things, from family to our respective cats, to things most-naughty XD There have been times when we laughed so hard and were so noisy that we nearly got kicked out a couple of times! We try to keep it down, honest, but when you're in the midst of a true belly laugh, it's hard to keep the noise level down~! lol~

I of course play my games when I'm not feeling well -- they're not just fun; they're a great way to manage pain, as well~! So nice to be able to put off taking pain meds ^__^

In addition to my gaming addiction, I absolutely love reading a good book. I literally got so sucked in to Kim Harrison's The Hollows series that I read ten of the books back-to-back in just over a month... and these books average out at 450 pages each! (I work full-time, did I mention that? lol~)

Anotther love is music. I always have some on hand, whether on my computer, on CD, or in the car. That's a whooooole 'nother topic right there. XD

That leads me to a fitting end for this post, a song which always makes me smile:

I'm Yours (did ya know that the radio version cuts off the end of the song?) ;D

Now, to go drum up some more participants... *goes off to advertise thread*

EDIT: I won Munin and Bird Story in another giveaway, and was just given Schein, as well~! Hooray~! ^__^

Happiness is all we need. I started my work with some nice songs. Thanks _Slaugh_.

I'm in for 1) Impire 2) A Bird Story 3) Munin (in order of preference).

I choose Impire because sometimes I want to be the anti-hero (and it looks nice). I choose A Bird Story because it seems a very sentimental story and I choose Munin because I like everything about the Norse mythology.
I don't know how to express it properly, but sometimes you just feel blue and playing a game with a darker tone makes you feel better. Other times you feel you can't take any more of the darkness and you just want to walk on the beach under the bright sun (which is my favourite) Try it, the cool sea and the warm sun can make you feel better.
Not in, but thanks for the giveaway Slaugh! +1
I'm in for the following, by order of preference:

1. Bet On Soldier
2. Not The Robots
3. Urja
4. Wasteland Angel
5. Gold Rush! Classic

I'm a different animal in terms of what brightens me in my darkest days. I can be considered a happy, extraverted person. But the interesting thing is my taste in things are usually the more depressing stuff. As an example, if I am having "dark moments", a depressing music, book or game helps me more to overcome than something colorful and joyful. I guess this is more of a balance thing.

In any case, many thanks for the giveaway!
What in the world... ? This is an awesome giveaway, how can there be so few entries? Meeeh, must remedy that XD

In the meantime, here's something to brighten your day -- Jasmine!

My best friend is the person with the power to bring light to my darkest moments; they're my soul mate, the one that knows me inside out and reads me like an open book even over the phone, and can relief tension and make me laugh with their witty sense of humour that manages to strip things from any serious or gloomy aspects. I'm very grateful they came into my life over 20yrs ago.

Thanks for the spreading happiness GA, no doubt it'll achieve its purpose for a number of members, +1.

The pursuit of happiness is currently one of my major goals! Personally, I try to cherish every moments of the day and keep a positive attitude, but it's not an easy task, as I'm suffering from <span class="bold">hyperacusis</span>...

Music has always been very important in my life, but 10 years ago, it became unbearable. For almost three years, I completely stopped listening to my favorite songs because I could no longer enjoy them! After a few years of struggling and suffering, desperately trying to figure out how it happened, I realized that the past can't be undone and the life must go on! Since that day, I'm constantly looking for solutions to better cope with my condition and enjoy life as much as I can!

I've seen too many specialists who were clueless or unhelpful, and their favorite quote was "go home and learn to live with it"!  This led me to two major depressions! It took me years to realize that my world has not fallen apart, as I originally thought, and that I have to win this battle on my own. If I don't help myself, who will?

I'm now focusing on the present, and I try my best to avoid being anxious about the future. My hyperacusis has slightly improved over the years, and the music is back into my life! When I have a hard time with my ears, I can still appreciate a good song by wearing my trusty musician earplugs!

The GOG community is wonderful! It reminds me of all the good friends I had on the <span class="bold">BBS</span>'s! This forum really helps me to brighten up my darkest days! Thanks for contributing to my happiness! :-)

skeletonbow: Whenever I'm having a challenging day/time, if I think of it I like to put this on and listen to it. It is very soothing, and is my favourite classical music album of all time, of one of my favourite composers of all time, played by one of my favourite classical music performers of all time.
I really like <span class="bold">The Piano Guys</span>. Steven Sharp Nelson, the cellist of the group, makes wonders with his cello! Jon Schmidt is also an exceptional pianist.

▪  <span class="bold">The Piano Guys</span> - The Cello Song <i>(Bach is back with 7 more cellos)</i>
▪  <span class="bold">The Piano Guys</span> - Rockelbel's Canon <i>(Pachelbel's Canon in D with 4 cellos)</i>

leon30: Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space => but only if I'm allowed to gift it to a friend, because this is one of my all-time favorites and is very suitable for him, because he currently have very little time for gaming and this game is designed for less than 20 minutes long play sessions and when one combines a few, it makes 1 very fun gaming hour :)

I don't know, you like K-Pop ? :) They make such ridiculous videos sometimes :D
Or may be Harlem shake under the water :D
No problem, you can gift the game to a friend if you want. As long as someone is happy, it follows the rules! ;-)

I like K-Pop music, but please, no Harlem Shake!  I find it very annoying! ;-)
