Spread the Happiness  (Giveaway)

This Friday, the World is celebrating the United Nation's International Day of Happiness, an annual spot in the calendar that reminds us that the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal! It's also the first day of Spring... Two good reasons for hosting a giveaway!

The rules are quite simple:

1)  A minimum rep of 30 is required to enter.
2)  Scammers are not allowed to participate.
3)  Clearly say that you're in, and choose up to 5 games from the list.
4)  One game per winner, but I can increase that number if you take part in the discussion.
5)  Winners will be chosen randomly in about a week, with the help of Random.org.

There are several ways to increase your chances of winning:  (All of them are optional)

1)  Choose a GOG member and say something nice about him/her.
2)  Tell me why you've selected these games, and how they can contribute to your happiness.
3)  Tell me if something brightens up your darkest days.  (song, movie, game, book, person, etc.)
4)  Any other things that can bring happiness to this thread.

take your time
Not in, but +1 for a great giveaway.
I am in for Hero of the Kingdom, thank you.
Not in +1.

Very interesting concept but I have what I want in your list.

I'll still play though:

1)  Choose a GOG member and say something nice about him/her.
tinyE
The GOG Forum is a better place with him.

2)  Tell me why you've selected these games, and how they can contribute to your happiness.
The game I already have and would have played for is "Not the Robots"
Destroying cubicle farms puts a smile of my face.

3)  Tell me if something brightens up your darkest days.  (song, movie, game, book, person, etc.)
A picture a a beautiful woman.

4)  Any other things that can bring happiness to this thread.

not in but great giveaway

thanks +1
Not in, but thanks for hosting this giveaway, and for the positive theme of the giveaway! My normal mostly-positive self has been feeling a little grumpy lately and seeing this positive minded giveway in the forums has raised my spirits a bit this morning so thanks for that!

I will try to throw some positives out there now too though!

> 1) Choose a GOG member and say something nice about him/her.

Forum member: Thespian*

There are a lot of great folks in the forums but one person who comes to mind as being very positive minded almost universally is Thespian*. Always friendly with a positive outlook.

3) Tell me if something brightens up your darkest days. (song, movie, game, book, person, etc.)

Whenever I'm having a challenging day/time, if I think of it I like to put this on and listen to it. It is very soothing, and is my favourite classical music album of all time, of one of my favourite composers of all time, played by one of my favourite classical music performers of all time.

John WIlliams Plays Bach: The Four Lute Suites on Guitar

I love the baroque era, and Bach's lute suites are some of the best of the time IMHO. Very emotive and expressive, and John Williams plays it so eloquently. I also have Segovia's own rendition of the lute suites which I also love, and even though Segovia is the master and Williams the student, I enjoy John's recording more and find it just a bit more emotive than Segovia's although they're both fantastic.

I recommend everyone give the whole album a listen, even if you're not a big classical music fan. You'll almost certainly hear some music in there that you've heard before and may not have known what it was. There are at least 3 or 4 pieces which are highly popular, some of which are also played on the violin or other instruments and are well known.

Fantastic stuff.

I'm in for
Pixel piracy
Weird Worlds: Return to infinite space

1) I dunno If I could pick just one. I mean seriously, gog community is by far the best I've encountered on the internet and it's been very generous to me as well. If I was to drop some names I'd go for like IAmSinistar, genkicolleen, real.geizterfahr, Sachys, Dzsono, rpgamer381 and so on. There's just too many, those were just random people I dug up from memory. Those people make giveaways, fun contests or post interesting or funny stuff or they're generally helpful and nice to other people, just cool and all :D.

2) I picked pixel piracy just because it looks interesting. I mean it has pirates on their ship and random stuff happens while you plunder the seas, what more could you possibly want? :D
And the other game I picked because I know the previous Infinite space game well and I know it to be quite fun so I expect this to be fun as well.

3) What brightens my day is for example a heavy rainstorm. Seriously, the heavier the rain, the darker the clouds, the louder the thunder the calmer and happier I feel. It's just my thing. If I was to quickly recall a moment when I felt very happy and relaxed it would be when I was on a walk the other day because I needed to escape my duties and work on my bachelor thesis (a very stupid thing to do as I was running out of time, I was an idiot back then and I can only hope I'm a lesser idiot now) and as I was halfway home a superheavy rain came upon me. I was completely soaked, my underwear was like if you threw it in the water, and I felt very happy about it. Surprisingly my cellphone survived that :D.
The other thing that makes me happy is these records "Lenny Kravitz - 5", "Darling Violetta - Parlour", "Tribe - Sleeper", "Cooly's hot box - Take it", "Hiromi Uehara - Spiral" and several others but you should really check these albums out, it's great music.
And then there are a couple movies that had a great impact on me. Takeshi Kitano's Fireworks, Akira Kurosawa's Redbeard, Yojiro Takita's Departures, Wong Kar-Wai's In the mood for love, Takeshi Kitano's Kids return, Fred Haines' Steppenwolf, Tom Tykwer's Run Lola Run and others but these are very dear to me. Although they're mostly not very cheerful movies they're very inspirative.

4)
this might bring a little hapiness if you enjoy musical geniuses having a little fun

Nice idea _Slaugh_! Thanks and +1!

I'm in for those:

1. Crimsonland

2. UFO: Aftermath

3. Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space => but only if I'm allowed to gift it to a friend, because this is one of my all-time favorites and is very suitable for him, because he currently have very little time for gaming and this game is designed for less than 20 minutes long play sessions and when one combines a few, it makes 1 very fun gaming hour :)

1) I choose zeffyr because his avatar always makes me smile (got to find the show and watch it :D)

2) Crimsonland is a game that I've searched for a good few years, since the time of game clubs and internet cafes, when we didn't have net in our homes and we gathered in the clubs to play games - there I remembered for such a game when the player was overrun with bugs very merciless, very fast, and you (the player) had to shoot all around you as long as possible but ultimately always fail and was overrun (something like survival mode). Till this day I have searched a lot of flash games and never found the game I remember, but I think it was an earlier version of Crimsonland and I really want to try out the newest edition.

UFO: Aftermath I want because I have its sequel UFO: Aftershock and found it a nice game with nice post-apocalyptic story, but unfortunately is the 2nd game of a trilogy, and I really want to know how it all started. I want to experience the story from the beginning 50 years ago.

As for Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space I explained how I feel about the game and what I want to do with it, I can only add the OST is also very nice and funny, all in all its a little gem from all angles, that I highly recommend it to everyone.

3) Well for me its always music related, and its on periods like this week will be this AMV, the next week will be this music video and the week after that it will be this frag movie.

4) I don't know, you like K-Pop ? :) They make such ridiculous videos sometimes :D
Or may be Harlem shake under the water :D
