infinite9: General Mattis

Kleetus: I want him to change his name to General Mantis, sounds so much better.
I like the name Mattis, it's like he's taken directly from a Swedish children's story.

rtcvb32: No doubt i'll get downvoted for it :P
avatar
rtcvb32: Called it. Someone is still downvoting me regardless what I'm doing.
To be fair, though, that was pretty much an open invitation.

Perhaps.

Although if you look up like 3 posts higher on my other post, I merely say I reported on it a few days prior without going into any type of details, and that also has downvotes. No, I'm being targeted. Including my less serious news section where I talk about beavers in dollar store shops attacking plastic trees, and people getting let go because the police thought a bag of cat litter was meth... Those all have serious downvotes too, although there's nothing political about them.

Then it's annoying, just yesterday my rep was 841, now just a couple hours later it's several lower.

No. this is someone using bots to attack me for them disagreeing with me. Although my energy and concentration on the task at hand has moved on for the moment.

I'm not denying your conclusions, from all the talk about it, it seems bots are attacking just about everyone.

I wonder... if the effectiveness of bots would come to a close, if the strength of the vote was in line with how many games you have. Say no games it's 1%, however with every game you own (excluding free games) it goes up 1% up to 100% of basically a full vote...

On the other hand, I would bet it's much easier and cheaper setting up a hundred times as many bots as currently exist, with each having their own account, than purchasing a hundred games for current bot accounts. I doubt any possible deficiency in bot effectiveness won't hold for long (as bot numbers will just increase). Also, I would be surprised if there are not many active users with less than fifty purchased games, greatly reducing the effectiveness of their votes.

Perhaps. Although removing the votes effectiveness entirely unless they spend say $5 on games (whatever amount was required to make topics in order to stop the spam issue we had before) would also work.

oh well.

As for the value of their votes being lower, well it's generally going to be self normalizing over time.

Mattis rhymes with Kleetus.

And Nirth is my friend, he's Swedish.

JK41R4: I, uhm, only kinda skimmed this a little I guess, but is that stuff about TPP and Internet censorship true?
Yes, every bit of it.

Fortunately, Donald Trump recently threw the TPP into the recycle bin as far as America is concerned. America withdrawing from the TPP severely weakens the treaty and it could collapse (after losing the world's #1 economy)

Make America free again!

I thought i read that the TPP included a provision for giving up the internet, which is curious that the Internet management got transferred before TPP was approved...

So i wonder how that works... or if the US will demand ownership back or what...
It's coming back yet again.

Hmmm... interesting... Just when I think something is dead it looks like it wants to resurrect itself.

Although one thing to remember, Trump has said if he can't get what he thinks is a better deal, he'd rip NAFTA out and start from scratch, which means we might not have trade with say Mexico for a year or something (which will probably hurt Mexico far more than it hurts us).

I hope not to see the TPP or SOPA or any iterations of it return.
TTIP or TTP or SOPA or whatever they renamed old 'deals' to are all bad.
Only the rich will profit, the common people will not.
